I am very despondent on spinning of politics, advertising, science, media and other facts. With a little whit one can turn information into something that suits their agenda vs. giving us needed information.

The ‪#‎NFL‬ Concussion settlement comes to mind. I cheered when heard that the NFL decided to settle and felt that the Athletes had finally won. My hope diminished more after I learning about the NFL, the League of Denial, that a big organization would do right. Now in past few weeks as I learn more about how this ‪#‎Concussion‬ Settlement is playing out - I have no faith. No faith when economics are involved - the interest of money and image far out weigh the interest of the whole or individual.

You may not care about the NFL settlement - but the ripple affect reaches us all. The spinning of the debate impacts us as a culture and how we see concussions/mTBIs as "not a big deal". It affects us by how we view what a strong athlete is and what we must sacrifice to be successful. I am guilty of both - and you all know where it has gotten me. As these professional organizations give us 'Role Models" and visions of greatness - ourselves and our kids are following in these athletes footsteps - only without a big brother to look out for us. There are thousands of people in our community, homeless shelters, prisons, hospitals, and people like you that are experiencing the same neurological diseases these athletes face. If there is no help for them, there is no help for you.

"The NFL Concussion Settlement is Pure Evil" - that's no joke. There was once a cap on what the settlement would be $600 million - this cap is now gone, and with cleaver ways of wording what qualifies as a justified neurological disease ... well the NFL could easily spend LESS than the originally allotted $600 Million - even thought there is no longer a cap.

This is a long read - but very informative and insightful into what all of us face with regards to hits to the head - and Big $ politics.
The story goes that the NFL concussion settlement is a historic victory for the players, but the facts show that the NFL is pulling off a historic con.

I am learning how to take a clip from a video and turn it into a photo. Now I am learning how to add a caption to the photo without using a Thumbnail generator. No better time than now to learn something new

100% of Concussions have soft tissue neck injury involved that is often over looked

"I think a lot of practitioners listen to the symptoms and just chalk it up to concussion," he adds, "but if they also examined the neck in these people, they might discover that a neck injury is involved and that's a treatable problem."
