Follow SpaceX's CRS-5 Launch: The Essential Sites!

First ocean landing attempt ever!... in a drone ship!

Updates from Elon Musk:
"Rocket made it to drone spaceport ship, but landed hard. Close, but no cigar this time. Bodes well for the future tho."
"Ship itself is fine. Some of the support equipment on the deck will need to be replaced..."
"Didn't get good landing/impact video. Pitch dark and foggy. Will piece it together from telemetry and ... actual pieces."

I've rented Jet Ski's before & this location was the least enjoyable. The instructions just to get out into the open water felt like it was 5 minutes long & extremely confusing. Poles, signs, left of this pole, right of this pole. No wake zone leading out to the open water is 7 to 10 minutes long. Spent most of the time avoiding sand bars which seemed to be everywhere! Then the Jet Ski just cuts out & had to follow a staff member back to the dock. Very frustrating!! Maybe a nice map, with sand bars clearly marked, also indicating were you can and can not go would be much better then long confusing instructions. I'm not going back to this location to rent jet ski's.

The scenic tour was enjoyable & relaxing. We had the whole upper deck to ourselves & was able to enjoy St. Augustine from the intercostal rather then walking in the summer heat. Crew was friendly & accommodating.

Unless your specifically going on a Dolphin adventure tour there really is nothing else to do but search for shade.
