Pets are amazing. They can make you laugh, smile and feel unconditional love. Unfortunately, if you suffer from pet allergies, they can also make you sniffle, sneeze and feel generally crummy.

When static electric shocks have become a part of daily life, you know that the air in your house is too dry. While the tiny jolts are annoying enough, a dry house can have other detrimental effects as well, such as contributing to sinus problems, drying out skin, and triggering nosebleeds. A great way to combat these problems, which are common during the heating season, is to use a humidifier.

Programmable thermostats are becoming more and more popular with homeowners in trying to make their homes as energy efficient as possible. But a heat pump's thermostat works differently than a furnace-based heating system's thermostat does.

A lot of newer homes are being built to be extremely airtight, which is a good thing for energy efficiency but can result in poor ventilation. Proper ventilation is necessary for maintaining good air quality and for removing moisture from the air in your home, while preventing stale and damp air from building up inside your home, and resulting in mold or mildew growth.

Hot water is easy to take for granted, but it's difficult to do without. Water heater performance can decline for any number of reasons. It could be due to something simple that can be repaired, or it could be a sign of a more serious problem that may require a new water heater.

Every winter you count on your heating system to keep your home feeling warm and comfortable. But like any piece of mechanical equipment, an HVAC system's boiler will eventually start to degrade.

Excellent Team. no-BS marketing. The installation team was very professional and went out of their way to ensure we were satisfied with the installation and no mess was left behind. They explained the new system in detail and answered every question I had. I don;t think they were the cheapest, but going thru Costo saved us additional $1500, which means we paid a fair price for an excellent quality system.

So I bought a brand new oil furnace ($4500) Sept 2010. A couple months in, a fuse blows. So the service and parts were covered under warranty. Me, "should this happen so soon after get a new furnace?". Repair person, "oh, these things just kinda happen." 15 months later, the furnace is not working. Apparently, parts are covered for 10 years, but the service visits are COVER ONLY FOR 1 YEAR. So it'll cost $50 just to have someone come out and then tell me how much they'll charge me to fix whatever is wrong. HOW CONVENIENT FOR A COMPANY TO SELL A PRODUCT THAT JUST HAPPENS TO GO BAD SO SOON AFTER THE SERVICE WARRANTY IS NO LONGER COVERED!? I WISH I COULD UN-DO MY CHOICE 15 MONTHS. BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Well where do I start??? Called the so called 24/7 service line, was told by a recording to hold on for the next available representative and placed on hold to listen to another recording about how great this company is and how responsive they are...also was told over and over again by the same recording that I would be given a exact time for my service technician to show up...LOL. after 2 hours and my phone finally dying from waiting soooooo long I gave up. I called back several hours later, as I do have a service contract with this company...shame on me!!! Finally I got through and was told that a technician would come out the next day, but despite the numerous times I was told that they gave appointment times when scheduling tech's on the recorded message, I was unable to get one. To make things even better I knew already exactly what was wrong with my A/C unit just unable to get the part, so I gave the part # and described the issue to the customer service rep prior to the tech coming out to my home. This would avoid any delays in them having to come out and saying they do not have the part on their truck... Being half of an educated consumer I looked online to see what the cost of my part should range??? $12- to the most expensive that I could find, must have been gold platted, $50 for the capacitor that was needed. meanwhile 2nd day no A/C and no calls from Sobieski...I finally called them at lunch time and ask if they had forgotten about me, I was told I was next on the list, I verified that the message of the part # got through and that the tech would have this part before coming to my home. Finally by 3 pm the tech showed up at my home, only to inform me that it was going to cost me $48 for travel, and $189 to install the above part...I questioned what the price of the part was and the labor rate? I was told that he could not give me that information, as there was just a flat rate for this service??? The job took a total of 8 minutes to install the part. You tell me??? for maybe a $30 part, I now get charged $159 for less than 10 minutes work. The tech never checked out one other thing on my entire unit, never stepped foot into the basement to ensure that the furnace unit was running properly...where he would have found that the air filter was blocked and actually pulled from the unit waiting to be replaced... could have made his company a few more bucks...what a #@$&%*# idiot this guy was... So at over $150 for 10 minutes work, I figure their labor rates to be somewhere around $900/ HR, not sure any of us can afford this in today's economy... When I called customer service to complain about the price, and ask if this is how they run a business??? I was told “YES” that is how they run a business and that a service manager would call me back to discuss this situation...that never happened. They just took my money and ran. Once again stay away from Sobieski Just remember the old adage, "CAVEAT EMPTOR" or buyer beware of this company

Selected Sobieski because their trip fee was low ($79.00 and change). They also indicated that they would contact me 30-45 minutes before a technician would arrive. No Call! I needed to replace a Cad Cell Eye in my oil furnace, a $15.00 part connected to the furnace with two wires. Sobieskie's standard fee for that service was $344.00, plus the trip fee. I felt obligated to pay the trip fee, but refused the repair. When I questioned the technician about the cost, he stated, "The company has to make a profit." I don't mind paying for a necessary service, but $423.00 for a $15.00 part and 2-minutes to install is, in my view, A RIP OFF!

I have used many plumbing and heating companies in the area. I must admit, I am a bit more picky then most people since I run my own electrical company, but Sobieski was the first company that I have had to my house that I trusted. They always arrive on time, explain to me what needed to be done and why, and tell me how much it will be before starting. The prices were good and the techs have been great! It seems as though all the other larger companies were more focused on high pressure sales on things I don't realy need. I have been using Sobieski now for about a year and a half and would recommend them to any one.

It was a pleasure to deal with Sobieski Services. I had no hot water and expected to pay a premium to have a new unit installed on a weekend. A service technician returned my call within five minutes and helped me to trouble shoot the immediate problem. I was able to relight the gas pilot and restore hot water. The hot water heater was twelve years old and leaking small amounts of water. The Sobieski technician quoted me a price to install a new unit on a weekday, saving me hundreds of dollars. The technician was professional, courteous, and left the work area spotless.
