Some Good News, At Last

Good evening everybody!

As some of you may have already noticed, Google has rolled out a new G+ app for iOS.

One of the main benefits:

Finally, it supports Landscape Mode while editing a post.

Want some more good news?

Well, in my last post, I suggested how to create your own Incoming Stream.

After having done so, it works brilliant in the iOS app:

If you go to "settings", then to "Stream: Choose Stream View", you can select the circles to display.

For me, I choosed my new Incoming Stream, my WorthARead Stream and Nearby.

This means, you can change very quick between your favourite streams, Incoming Stream- is now just _a swipe away.

Hope I got the English translation of the menu-entries correct, but I guess you got the idea!

Enjoy!

Good Evening All

Have been a bit quiet lately due to job obligations, however, promise to make up for it!

Anyways, while surfing G+, I found this very interesting post about why +M Sinclair Stevens (who has also circled this page, btw.) wants his Incoming Stream back.

Great write-up & worth a read!

I Want My Incoming Stream Back!!! +Google+, in my opinion, just made their first major screw up. The Incoming Stream, for those that aren't aware of it,…

+That's A Fact Well said - I guess we'll need thousands to make Google change their mind.

But don't give up your hopes - share this page and try to reach as many plussers as possible and let's see if we get things done!

Good morning, Everybody!

Hey, it has been a bit quiet around the Incoming Stream during the past couple of days.

Want to change it?

Ok, here we go:

It would be of a great help to make our request a little bit more popular, therefore, if you have a minute:

Please share this page to all of your contacts!

The more we are, the better chances are Google will be listening to us - thanks!

Dear Fellow Plussers,

as you may or may not have noticed, Google is about to roll out new G+-apps for Android and iOS.

As you might have guessed, seems the Incoming Stream is gone on mobile, too, instead, Google is introducing the What's Hot-Stream as in it's Web-application.

This has been announced as of today by Googler +Tom Charytoniuk in this post: https://plus.google.com/u/0/107767775974830891773/posts/L9yhJakfWnp

This post has been re-shared by +Vic Gundotra here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/107117483540235115863/posts/4iazTbwdCxt

Since both of them are either responsible for Google+-development or do have their say at Google, I thought you guys might want to comment their posts and let them know about your thoughts regarding the missing Input Stream

Now let your keyboards rock!

And before I forget:

Long Time, No See.....

Hi there,

as you may have noticed, it seems the Incoming Stream now has completely disappeared, even from our Mobile Apps.

So much for that, and I have to say I'm quite disappointed that Google doesn't seem to listen to their users suggesting to bring back this feature.

Anyways, I found a way to achieve the benefits of the Incoming Stream, and I'd like to share this with all of you so that it might be of some use for you guys.

It will take some manual action every now & then from you side, but I guess it's worth the (very little) effort.

What did I do?

-First,

I created another circle WorthARead and move everybody inside my current circles into this new circle

-Second,

I created a new Circle called Followers

-Third,

I circled everybody inside my circles plus the people in Not Yet In Circles and moved them into my new circle Followers
Now the setup is ready!

Everytime I get a notification of somebody having me circled, I'm circling this person and move him / her into my new circle Followers (wish, there was a plugin or function in G+ getting this job done for me....)

The result:

I do have a new Incoming Stream, the only difference is, that it's called Followers, and that I have to manually move everybody circling me into my new circle Followers.

However, I guess it's sufficient checking your new followers every few days and then add them to your Followers - circle.
This job is pretty easy to achieve if you switch to Not Yet In Circles, select Select All from the More - menue and have them circled as your Followers with just one click.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Good evening All

Well, as of today, Google has rolled out it's new G+-app for iOS, and a few days ago, Google has already deployed G+ on Android.

Exactly as predicted, the Incoming-Stream has vanished from the Apps, instead, we now have the "What's Hot"-stream sic

The main difference between these two streams is, that inside the "What's Hot"-stream the content is recommended by Google (aka it's algorithms). The plussers listed there are not people interested in your posts and have you circled, but are plussers of whom Google thinks they might be of any interest to you.

Sure, it might happen that also a post from a person who has circled you but has not been circled back by you shows up in said stream.

The Incoming Stream, however contains exactly the posts from the plussers who have circled you but have not been circled back yet.

Thus, the Incoming Stream is a precious resource to check if a follower is of any interest to you or, well... not.

Especially plussers with a greater number of followers are going to miss the Incoming Stream, since checking all post from plussers via the "Circles-Tab" whom you have not circled back yet is quite some tedious work.

Suggestion To Google (esp. to +Dave Besbris ):

You might want to consider maintaining the Incoming Stream plus the What's Hot-stream, and everyone would be happy.

How about that?

And to all followers:

Use the rollout of the latest G+-apps to spread the word and re-share this page!

No chance to roll back? Wait… is there any difference in package installed by different Ppl? You know, if you export G+.apk via AirDroid, and someone else will do the same, the package is binary same or not?
If it is same binary for everyone, there is a simple solution to downgrade to 2.3.1. :)
Can you post md5sum of apk file and version of your app?
Here: 6efc4c64ac6012424f20119b1c5eba79 Google+-2.3.1.242969.apk

About what's hot. For me this spam in main stream is (was :D) just little less irritating than missing incoming stream in browser version of G+

edit: http://www.apktops.com/google-2-3-1-242969-google-plus.html feature full previous version? ;-)

A small woraround, in case you want your Incoming Stream back:

Please try the link below, provided by +Will Kriski. Not exactly the old one, but for now it's gonna serve it's purpose:

Good evening!

Ok, this has nothing to do with the Incoming Stream, however, some of you guys might like this news - and I'm looking forward to install my favourite apps on iOS 5.0.1 on my 4S - such as InfiniDock - at last!

You can download Absinthe here, however, currently the server seems to be quite busy: http://greenpois0n.com/?p=173

Apfeleimer.de is providing a mirror, but it's to be expected that this one might be pretty busy, too: http://apfeleimer.de/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=15

Enjoy!

PS.: If you're aware of any mirrors, please post them as a comment to this post - thx
Hello dear readers, I know the wait was long, too much long, but it's about to end! You'd be able to free your iPhone in some hours. A tool named Absinthe and developped by the Chronic Dev Tea...

Good morning!

Google's +Mike Brzozowski started a survey on your likes and dislikes regarding Google's mobile G+-applications.

I guess it's worth taking this survey, since your feedback goes right to Google-development.

Ah, well, and yes: You can also tick that you're using the Input Stream ;)

Hi guys, great to see you all here!

Now let's see if we can push this page a bit forward so that Google notices that removing the Incoming Stream was kond of a bad idea.

It would be great if you could re-share this page and my previous post to your circles. Hopefully, we become big enough to have our say!

Thanks to everybody supporting Give Us Back The Incoming Stream!
