I have always loved Godzilla - even before knowing about Star Wars - So at around age 3-4 is when the famous atomic-breath monster came into my life. On one of those fat televisions with the rabbit ears, and dusty vhs system hooked into it was I able to watch some of the movies.
I could make a list of how many that I remember at that age, but it would be too long, as this post already is...
But I must say, without Godzilla/Mothra/Biollante/King Ghidorah -- I would not be the person that I am today, I think.
The visuals and sounds those movies provided for me at such an age were something dazzling and changing for a kid. Finally, there was something I could look up to with a big smile and imagine having the freedom to have fun just like that. What kid wouldn't want to beat up other monsters or destroy things for the heck of it?
As for Star Wars -- seeing that at the age of 4-5 -- That is another life-changing moment for me, as well. Darth Vader in that stark-white hallway with those Stormtroopers, is still ingrained into my mind. The mystery. The strange breathing. Come on, that was nightmare fuel right there for me for QUITE a long time -- and still do occasionally. Would NOT want to be cornered by that more machine now than man -- twisted and evil!
