My favorite bar in the city! Very friendly staff and great service. It can get very crowded during happy hour and on the weekends. Their tots are great, as are their veggie burgers, and tacos. Their spicy pickle backs are my absolute favorite! They often give free shots, and on my birthday they gave me a balloon and hostess cupcake! On Sunday nights, they have a paper airplane contest for whoever can fly their plane the farthest. It's a great place to have a good time, with a very spunky energy.

Maybe i just haven't gone at the right time...but I wasn't that impressed. Yes the patio area does seem like it'd be fun during a nice day in the city, but the couple of times I've been there, it's been at night and pretty chilly outside. The bar inside is a total biker bar, which is fine, but just not really my kind of place. I hear food is pretty good, but I haven't had a chance to try it. I may improve my rating once I'm able to go back and be there on a nice afternoon in the outdoor area.

Some people I know call Zeitgeist the best bar in San Francisco. I'm not 100% sure yet, but I'll agree it's pretty great! The crowd here is pretty laid back, there's good beer, the well drinks are served in pint glasses, there's bar food and a pool table, and the backyard is pretty great. My only hesitation is that the bar gets pretty packed on weekends and I'm not a huge fan of crowds -- but if you're looking for fun, showing friends around the city, or want to meet some new people, Zeitgeist is a pretty good bet!

I went here to have a drink with a friend and his friends for his birthday. The patio area was a big open space with lots of benches for people to congregate and drink to their merriment. The bar was lively on both inside and outside the premises, and is at a great location just a block away from Market and Valencia. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I could definitely see why people would go here for a drink or two (or three).

Came here on a team outing (a.k.a. day drinking) last week, where the lot of us proceeded to polish off a few pitchers of beer over the next few hours, while I was feeling rebellious and chose to nurse my double of rye instead. While the drinks are pretty standard - don't expect any fancy cocktails here, a la Rickhouse or Zero Zero - the space is pretty neat. There's the usual indoor part of a dive bar, with the pool table and video games, and there's this nice outdoor patio area, replete with picnic tables and benches. Unfortunately, not so much to my tastes, mostly due to me being more of the cocktail bar/lounge type, but partly since, not only was it too cold to be out in an area lacking heat lamps, but also because the patio was filled with smokers. But hey, if these don't bug you, or you're into the dive scene, Zeitgeist is probably worth checking out. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - While the front door has a single step that's easy to get up with some help, they also do have an accessible side entrance. Once inside, you have to deal with your usual bar height counters, but they have ramps elsewhere to get you in and out of the patio, should you so choose. Bathroom - Accessible!

Zeitgeist is a surly joint full of yuppies in punk clothes, cigarette smoke, and suspicious bartenders. Patrons glare at you. You glare back. Sound fun? The only redeeming quality of this place is it's big backyard area. But if you're looking for that atmosphere and are willing to make a small trek head over to El Rio, where the beers are cheaper and you get the backyard without the angst.

Zeitgeist hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
