I had a bad experience my first time, rude staff, particularly the manager, my second and last time was even worse. Took my bike in for a full tune up. Went for a ride on the Hudson directly from the shop. About 2 miles in the whole pedal assembly came loose and fell off. I lost my balance and almost wrecked. I walked the bike back to the store frustrated. Thinking at least they'd give me some money back or a credit for the poor work. Haha. Nope! Same manager. Same terrible attitude. Basically just said these things happen. Didn't even apologize. Unreal.

Took a serious dump into the rocks, when going for a ride along the river... because of a careless rider/tourist that got me off the rode. The shop without a doubt is busy and my rim was really bent (non repairable) it was near closing. Tony helped me out big time, swapped my tire onto a new rim, and got the derailer adjusted for me. I'm out of state and trying to even walk the bike with a bent rim wouldn't really work.... even to get to Grand Central or anything. Looking at the previous reviews.. This is a bike shop, not a sandwich shop... they seem buisy building and repairing other bikes have some understanding for those kinds of situations. As for me my experience was awesome, I can't thank Tony enough... I have some cuts abd briuses from the ride... but my bike is back on the road thanks to Metro Bicycle.

NY is great except for the arrogance and contempt - almost like Paris. This morning i brought a bike in to replace a stolen saddle. Waited five minutes while an employee played with and rearranged bikes in the back and another 15 while they figured out that the seat post I had wouldn't fit the saddle they could sell me and then I left to come back later. On return and paying, when i mentioned that i'd been waiting earlier, the guy who'd been rearranging the bikes in the morning lied and said someone else was there to help me (she wasn't: she was outside with a mom with a stroller). When I said there was better service at another shop at 72nd St. another employee said, 'Enjoy the service on 72nd St.' Okay. I will.

Wow..was I ripped off. Went inside. Waited quite a while to get attended to. My Dahon folding bike lost one tiny bolt. I went inside to inquire if they carried the bolt (to purchase it and install it myself). The guy takes the bike to the back, the bike comes back with the tiny bolt installed and he just says "Ten dollars." (off the top of his head). I could have either argued and stated that I just wanted the bolt and didn't realized I would be charged for "labor." Instead I said nothing and paid the ripoff price for the 30 second labor. Yikes. Never, never will go in there again.

When I walked in, no one assisted me. They were rude and everything is over priced. I will not go back there again.
