Thank you to everyone at the Thomas Edison School in Fair Lawn for their warm welcome. Dr. Furman visited the Pre-K classes to teach the students about proper dental hygiene and tooth-healthy foods for February's Children's Dental Health Month.
It is never to early to learn about how to keep your teeth healthy. The best treatment is always prevention and you shouldn't wait until there is a problem to visit the dentist. Call to make an appointment for a checkup. Your and your families' teeth will thank you.

From the beginning of October until the end of November, pumpkins and pumpkin-flavored items are extremely popular in grocery stores, coffee shops, and dinner tables. If you decide to use a fresh pumpkin in some of your cooking this season, try keeping the seeds and roasting them instead of throwing them out. Pumpkin seeds are a good source of magnesium, which helps your body better absorb the calcium that strengthens teeth and bones.

If you need a filling, there are a few different options available to you, such as amalgam, composite resin, porcelain, and gold, and each type of filling has pros and cons to each, like cost, longevity, and appearance. Only a dentist can tell if you need a filling, so if you have not had a checkup in a while or notice signs such as pain or sensitivity, contact our office today.

There are several reasons someone might experience tooth sensitivity: tooth grinding, acidic foods, brushing too aggressively, gum recession, and tooth decay. Depending on the cause, some tooth sensitivity treatments can be done at home, like switching to softer tooth brush and minimizing the acidic and sugary foods you eat. However, if you notice you have sensitive teeth, contact our office, and we can help you determine the cause in order to create the right treatment plan for you.

Don't let your dental insurance benefits go to waste. Call now to get the appointment you want before the benefits expire at the end of the year.

Most dental insurance plans don't roll over yearly benefits, that means if you don't use them before the end of the year you lose the benefits you paid for. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Furman today for you and your family, your smile will thank you.

We want to give you an iPad to thank you for all the great referrals!

We know that choosing a dentist is not easy and that a good word from a friend or family member can help make the choice easier. When you refer a patient to us it is the highest compliment we can get and we want to give something back.

Out last patient referral iPad contest was such a success we are doing it again. Starting today Promenade Dental Care is running a new patient referral contest going on through December 1! In addition to our existing program of a $25 gift card for each referral, we are giving an iPad to the patient who makes the most referrals from today through December 1, 2016. When it comes to brushing your teeth, there is such a thing as brushing too hard. Brushing too aggressively can wear down your enamel or cause your gums to pull away from your teeth. #TipTuesday

If your teeth are feeling sensitive after eating your favorite soup or other hot foods, you shouldn’t just ignore the problem. There are several ways to treat the symptoms, but you’ll also need to find the cause of the problem. Grinding, erosion, and cavities are some of the most common issues that contribute to sensitivity, but we can help you figure out what the source of your tooth sensitivity is.
