Very proud to be a part of the +Skepticality Podcast, which earlier today won Best Podcast at the Ockham Awards, which are awarded by the UK Skeptic Magazine every year at QED.  Congrats to +Derek Colanduno and +Robynn McCarthy who created the podcast and do all the real work. But also kudos to my fellow segment creators +Susan Gerbic (who accepted the award at the ceremony, as she is speaking at the conference), +Wendy Hughes, +John Rael of +The Odds Must Be Crazy+Robert Blaskiewicz, +Eve Siebert of Skeptical Humanities, Robert Todd Carroll of Unnatural Virtue and the many others who contributed to the podcast over the past year. Oo interesting thank you. I had Dr Sue Blackmore as a teacher at uni, and I can remember all those years ago discussing how the brain constructed our perception, and could fail under stress - but the physical research has galloped ahead in the last few years.

There was a guy at TAM 9 who, when I mentioned this, said this was just 'impossible'. Why? Because all the kids he knows only pirate the stuff and never buy anything.

I think he missed the little detail that most kids don't have transportation or money.
