The setting was beautiful and my son enjoyed the sting rays, but there was very little for my 4 year old daughter to do. For the very pricey admission, I expected both of them to be able to find things to do. Several displays did not work. The areas I thought she would most enjoy, were closed for private classes and camps. When charging, $62 for a family of 4, every area should be available. In addition to that, there were large groups of campers making it difficult to enjoy things at times. Also, reciprocity for a friends and family membership from another science museum was not honored as it should have been. The lady at the membership desk was unfriendly and not helpful.

I have been here twice the second time I hoped the place would redeem itself. Both times I spent no more than 2-3 hours in the museum. Both times more than 50% of the exbits were broken. Admission is also pricy.

I went in June 2014 and it was awesome! All the exhibits were great and the museum looked high-tech. The museum had a flight simulator (which was great, because I love aviation). The exhibits were interactive and everything was great. There is no way you can miss visiting Discovery World!

"...Worst of all, the museum contracted with a pest control agency to have the building sprayed kill spiders that lived on the outside of the building. Not ants or roaches or any other pest that is actually problematic, but spiders, predators that naturally control the pest population. The extermination was ordered regularly solely for aesthetics, and the pesticides were not "green." The worst part about this? The science museum is built directly over Lake Michigan, so all that pesticide runs directly into the water below. Just a couple examples of the ridiculous hypocrisy at work at the institution, and one reason I quit that job. TL;DR: A science museum I used to work for does not practice what it preaches regarding conservation & preservation." - Quoted from an ex-employee on reddit.

Summary: Overall cool place but can get crowded in a hurry. Maybe a little overpriced. We took the kids here while visiting Milwaukee on vacation. We wanted to do something fun for them. My boys are 2 and 4. I'm glad that my youngest was free because aside from the aquarium, there isn't as much for him to do. My 4year old like many of the exhibits, but it was super crowded due to all of the large classes and groups. Not sure when is a good time to go if it's this busy during the week. A little less than half of the interactive features were out of order. Every exhibit had something that wasn't working. Both boys really liked the aquarium. That is definitely the highlight. When you factor in parking, the price seems a little steep considering the broken stuff and all the people. I don't feel ripped off in any way, but I feel like $10 per person is a more reasonable price point.
