In the Hackerspace we didn't do anything for Christmas this winter, but it feels like it would be nice to get together still. Who would be interested in a gathering in the Hackerspace the week before the Chinese New Year, maybe at this time? (the time still can be changed, any other suggestion's good too!)
Eating, chatting, catching up with each other, it's been way too long since the last time. :)
Wuulong Hsu will give a talk on the LASS open source pollution monitor at the Taipei Hackerspace. The event is free and open to everyone.
LASS is non-profit local Taiwan project, an open source platform with options to outfit with a variety of sensors, including PM2.5, carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and NO2 (useful for detecting diesel exhaust levels). It seems to present a fairly complete picture of air quality. Such devices have so far been out of reach of consumers.
This is a community event where FreeBSD committers help people to understand what are ports and how to package new software to submit it as a new port.
由 FreeBSD Committers 協助大家了解甚麼是 ports 的社群活動。
The Basic idea / 基本想法 ====================
The Ports System used in FreeBSD is dead simple. It should be easy for any open source software publisher to submit their code to FreeBSD. But they just don't know how simple it is, so we are gonna show 'em.
