Got Wood Windows???? Make sure they are opened regularly so debris / dirt doesn't build up and get wet and begin to rot the wood. Be sure that the outside window casings and sills are caulked and sealed or painted (Not painted shut) to preserve the wood. The inspection on this 500k home found that none of the windows were ever opened, they did not even have screens for them, and almost every window will have to be replaced due to neglect.

Not all Inspectors walk on the roof, and they are not required to..... But at Macomb Inspections, We Do. Most chimney caps and Flues need maintenance, some times annually . But if no one goes up there, how will you know? this chimney looked great from the ground, but up close we found the left flue liner has crumbled and actually has a family of Raccoons living in it. That's the flue for the wood burning fireplace. ( I was face to face with Mama when I opened the damper, Yes I screamed!) So before you hire a inspector, ask them if they go on the roof and in crawlspaces? WE DO.

This Is one of the most beautiful home I've ever been in / inspected. Only 14 years old, 7 bed / 7 baths and just shy of 2M. And once again the buyer was going to skip the inspection......The roof inspection found multiple issues and the sewer scope inspection found the sewer was at the time of the inspection, backed up. Could you imagine spending that kind of money, and after moving in, the basement backs up with sewage? Luckily We offer sewer scope inspections with our Home inspections and found the problem first!

This family almost passed on the inspection for a $550K home.... Poor ventilation in the attic was the cause of the massive amounts of fungal growth in the attic.

Sometimes the Home Inspector's job saves lives and properties. This is the main electric service wire from the meter to the panel. The seller had no idea this fire happened, because the power was still on.
