Google Maps  -

Using custom images to create visually appealing Google Maps

As with most Google Maps API projects, knowledge of HTML and JavaScript is a plus here. Additionally, basic graphic design skills help in creating custom imagery to use on your map.

Another cool campus map from Texas, for Angelo State University. This one uses ImageMapType (http://goo.gl/7Dr98) to overlay map tiles on top of the Google map to create their own look and feel. It's quite a beautiful one.

Using Google Drive data to populate a map

A great little video showing how to create a map based on data stored within Google Drive. In addition to having a place to host this map, limited knowledge of HTML and JavaScript are helpful tools to have if you want to apply the skills learned within this video.

Google Tips and Tricks with an EDU focus
Introduction
What is GooED?
GooED is designed to be a collection of tips and tricks focusing on using the tools provided by Google in innovative, creative, and in some cases non-standard ways.

Who is behind GooED?
The person behind GooED is an IT professional who supports a wide range of Higher Education users throughout the state of Wisconsin. He by no means claims to be an expert at this point when it comes to all things Google, but he does claim to be creative and enjoy developing 'outside the box' solutions to a variety of situations and issues.

What is the purpose of GooED?
Sometimes people have great ideas, but no way to use them. My hope is that some of my ramblings help others down the road when it comes to finding solutions to some of their problems.
