Is anyone experiencing slow frame rates in the Sapphire 3D renderer? You should be getting 30fps or better. Please let me know if you're not.
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if a few users might be kind enough to post the frame rates they get in Sapphire, preferably when using a recent build of L3DT (e.g. v14.06 RC3)? A user has just reported to me by e-mail that they're seeing a frame rate in Sapphire of 1fps or worse using modern ...

If you, like me, have a bit of a penchant for space simulator games, you might like to have a look at Lunar Flight, by Shovsoft. Very tidy indeed, and, co-incidentally, features terrain made in L3DT Pro.

Sorry for the delay. Yes, roads are on the development plan. Some work has already been completed, but I can't say when it will all be ready for use.

Erosion, bigger maps, better textures and lighting, wizards, funky progress boxes, and installers. Just some of the many highlights in part II of the '10 years of L3DT' story.
Multiple climates were supported, much as they are today. This release included the familiar 'temperate' and 'arctic' climates. Alas, there was still no editor to be seen, so the climate files had to be edited manually using a text editor. A few intrepid users did master the dark art of manually ...

Would you believe L3DT is ten years old today? If you're curious to see how it all began, or would like to chortle at just how rustic the first few releases were, please follow the link below. Thank you to all the users over the years for your support, encouragement, and distracting intellectual challenges.
Hi Everyone,. L3DT version 1 was released ten years ago today, and it seemed to me like a good opportunity to take a stroll down memory lane to look at how the program has changed over the years, to reminisce about the more quaint aspects of the old user interfaces, and to chuckle at just how ...

Stitching heightmaps together: now in L3DT v12.03 build 3.
The height data can be from any source, and in any file format that is supported by L3DT. However, it is recommended that 'proper' heightmap file formats be used, such as TER (Terragen), BT (V...
