Elephants in the Room.

The dirt digging may well make some people uncomfortable and bring to light things that produce emotive reactions- especially from those that may have originally had a hand in designing and / or implementing the very software delivery process that you are examining. Not only that, but you may need these very same people to be heavily involved in the replacement and / or refinement of it. Even if they can see and understand that the process they nurtured is broken and needs to be re-engineered, they still may have an emotional attachment to it - especially if they have been involved for a long time.

Right.. I'm considering converting my One to stock GE. Started investigating the process and discovered that I need S-off to change the cid? Anyways, I'm on hboot 1.54 and it seems I can't s-off my One using the 'normal procedure'. So is it a matter of sit and wait for the scene to do some magic, or are there any recommended workarounds for the 1.54 issue?

What's going on at lenovo? The new laptops are absolute shite. Keyboard buttons popping out on brand new computers. Mousepad is a nightmare. Miss the IBM days.... Any good alternatives out there for business use?

I could see how the new X1 keyboards are failing. Exactly one of the "special" keyboards that you can't simply get a replacement for. The 2012 models were pretty nice in comparison... At least there weren't two keys where caps lock is. The X2- series is pretty good overall.

I've heard the new S series are a little better build than the new T series, but they aren't available where I am (USA). The T series have had chassis issues for a few years though, especially the hinges, so that is nothing new. Basically paying for the processor with those as they are $500 laptops that ship for over $1,000 with options.

I see where you are coming from. If this is the sort of laptop you are buying, maybe try the Dell Latitude or the HP Elitebooks. With both those model lines, you are essentially buying the same old thing which is not a bad thing. If you go HP, make sure you have some full-size displayport cables.

Edit: scratch that last part... If you are using T series, you probably have a bucket full of displayport cables.

Introduction
My name is Raymond Pettersen, also known by some as "panser". I`m in my early 30s, born and raised on a small island located in the northern parts of Norway, and now living and working in Trondheim.

Already in my early years I evolved a keen interest in technology. After 5 years at NTNU and HIST, I started my career as a System Administrator at IntraPoint who specialize in Incident, Business Continuity, and Crisis Management solutions. After spending 4 exciting years at Intrapoint - I then moved on to Q-free, a world leading technology supplier of solutions for Road User Charging and Traffic Surveillance. My latest challenge is at Kantega, a software development company located in Trondheim and Oslo.

Away from the computer I enjoy tv series, going to the movies, traveling, making various types of food, spending time with friends, and my dog - a 7 year old welsh springer spaniel.
