Really good falafel and variety of amazing rices. Good for omnivores and vegan/vegetarians.

Overall the experience left us wanting for nothing and genuinely in awe of such a terrific dining experience. The service was perfect. The food was breathtaking, and the house made tonics stood on equal footing. The chef Hamish and the mixologist Natasha were exceptionally personable. While on vacation I typically have a strict no revisit policy. This place was fun enough that we went back for drinks and appetizers the next night. We will return!

My fiance and I were having a great time at this place right up until we finished our meal. The food was delicious, but for whatever reason, service took a nose dive once we finished eating. We asked for boxes and it took about 10 minutes for us just to get boxes. After that, it took another 20 minutes for someone to come back to us so we can ask for a check. Once we asked for a check, it took ANOTHER 20 to 30 minutes for us to receive our check. After that, we only waited about five minutes before we took our check inside to complain. The restaurant apologized for the poor service and covered our meal as a result. We didn't ask for a free meal, but I think that was the fair thing to do since we could have easily left without paying. We waited so long for our check and the restaurant wasn't busy or understaffed, so there wasn't any excuse as to why we had to wait. We were unattended long enough on the patio that we could've just ditched. We weren't going to do that, but that's how bad our service got. The manager on duty took personal responsibility for the poor service, as she told us that she saw that we received our boxes but thought her staff had everything taken care of. She said that she could've done something about the situation, but didn't, and she apologized for that. I do appreciate that she took personal responsibility for the situation. I don't know if I would go back, which is really unfortunate because the food was great. I'm sure there were other things on the menu that I would've enjoyed. We also didn't have any problems until we finished our meal, when service should have been the simplest since all our plates were cleared and we didn't order many more food. All we needed were boxes and our check, but waiting for those two things doubled the length of our meal and the wait was simply unacceptable.

March 27: I think this place is out of business now....... I use to frequent this place both in U City and now S. Grand. It's been a couple of years since I visited but we had the taste for good kabobs. Boy, was it a let down. The food quality and freshness has really dropped since I first discovered this place in U City. There were gnats rising from the salad. The egg plant appetizer wasn't appetizing. The meat quality used in the soltani was OK in the ground beef kabab koobideh but the kabab barg portion used inferior meat. Overall the meat portions were OK but everything else was lacking. Sorry Natasha, but after so long, you fell down on your food quality. The squashed gnats we killed on the table are proof of that. The server said they would tell the tell the manager. The manager never came. I paid, we left, and now I'm left with the memories of a great restaurant that doesn't exist any more.

I have been going to Cafe Natasha / Kabob International for 25 years, and I have never been disappointed. It is, hands down, my absolute favorite Saint Louis restaurant. The owners treat us like family, and may be the most hard-working people I have ever met. Hamishe is one of the sweetest people around, and I always looked forward to seeing her. The restaurant is clean and well-decorated, and the music and decor really make for a great vibe. The patio is also one of my favorite places to enjoy a beautiful evening. Not only is the food unbeatable, but the unique drink menu is fun to sample. My favorite dish is the Beef Shish Kabob in lamb sauce, with rice and grilled tomatoes. I rarely order anything else because I can't get past it! However, you absolutely have to start your meal with a bowl of Osh. No idea how that is spelled, but it is an unbelievably tasty lentil soup, that I have never been able to recreate at home or seen anything close to it at any other Mediterranean restaurant. My family goes to Cafe Natasha for pretty much every available birthday, holiday, or excuse to eat out at a restaurant. Try this restaurant out and you most definitely become a regular!

My boyfriend and I stopped at this restaurant on a lark, and we were not sorry! We tried their beef kabob and their chicken vindaloo kabob and both were tender and delicious. We also enjoyed an Arabian coffee and a Turkish coffee, both delectable. We also enjoyed one of the vegetarian dips with pita that were offered (not humus or baba-ganouj, another one... can't remember the name) and it was lovely as well. The restaurant was elegantly decorated, and offered outdoor seating. The staff were prompt and friendly. We highly recommend enjoying this restaurant!
