I’m excited to be included in the “Family of No Man” exhibition in Arles, France. The Family of No Man is one of the main curatorial events at Arles Cosmos 2018. It includes over 400 photographic works by artists worldwide.

The aim of this exhibition is to revisit Steichen’s original Family of Man exhibition (1955). The Family of No Man seeks to replace the visual register of white male dominance inherent in the original project with an inclusive visual platform of how the world is seen through non-male eyes.

Zero Image 612b. Ilford Delta 100. Approx 4 min exp.

This image was taken in 2013. My model (daughter) was 11. This image creation was for an image pairing in our current pinhole project, titled "Baker's Dozen : A Pinhole Dialogue" with my colleague Antonia Small, of Port Clyde Maine. The theme for this image was Landmark or Roadside Oddity ... so I thought of the large concrete whale structure on Historic Route 66 just to the northeast of Tulsa Oklahoma ... THE BLUE WHALE. She is in the belly of the whale here, where portholes allow light to flood in during the mornings.

This image was also in the London Pinhole Festival and won the ShutterHub Award in 2015, at Doomed Gallery, Dalston London UK.

It has also recently been included in a group photography exhibit at JRB Art at the Elms in OKC OK, alongside Brett Weston and Connie Imboden, in 2016.

This image can be viewed alongside 25 other pinhole photographs in the Baker's Dozen: A Pinhole Dialogue exhibition April 1-30, 2016, at TAC Gallery, 9 E MB Brady TULSA OK. Th, Fri, Sat 6-9pm.
Opening night is tomorrow, April 1st. 6-9pm.
Hope to see you there!
