Friendly enough, but the range is not very good. There are better shops around

Quite a poor selection, mostly overpriced classic rock reissues as well as boxes of piled-high secondhand stuff they cannot shift, not just because of the high prices. They say something on their website about the bargain section at the back having pipe band and other rubbish taken out which seems to be true but what remains is Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra carboot easy listening type stuff. If you want an independent alternative to HMV/Virgin type outlets and have fairly mainstream indie/classic rock tastes and don't mind spending a few extra pounds on an album so you can buy it over the counter locally then you will probably be happy here but if you are a discerning collector you will find this place a wasted journey.

I love this shop. It's probably the best record shop in the Edinburgh area. There are plenty of new releases and I often come away with a handful of indie/alternative releases for around the £15 mark. There's plenty of used vinyl too - classic rock, oldies, alternative etc. The bargains round the back are fun too, especially the LPs. What's best about the shop us the feel of it. The people who work there are really nice and you are constantly tripping over boxes of records. It can be a bit chaotic but that's what's charming about it.

Excellent music shop on St Stephen's Street in StockB. Staff know their stuff but are unintimidating to those who don't and will happily recommend something for you or chat away about what you're looking for. While they don't stock all the latest releases on vinyl, their second hand selection is excellent and they do keep a lot of great, local bands on the shelves.
