The page's name change to MonochromeAllWeek has been kept in abeyance due to the feedback and love all of you have showered on the theme. We are however still committed to being available and interacting all days of the week to see, appreciate, inspire and be inspired by all the lovely work each one of us creates almost on a daily basis.
»Don’t shoot what it looks like. Shoot what it feels like« David Harvey
Sometimes feelings are better communicated by the details and textures in a monochrome photo, where you can convey a certain mood with varying tones, shades and tints of a single base color.
Often we think black and white when we think of monochrome art, but it can also be other combinations containing only tones of a single color, such as green-and-white or green-and-black. It may also refer to sepia displaying tones from light tan to dark brown or early photographic methods such as daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and tintypes.
Using a single color can help in creating a moody photo and convey strong feelings and emotions: green are fresh and vibrant, yellows seem warm and inviting, blues are cool and moody and golden tones gives a sense of warmth.
This theme is about experimenting with monochrome art in in any way you like. Don’t worry about being perfect. Enjoy the process and share it with Monochrome Arty Club™, where your ideas may lead to new possibilities of art or some new cool connections :)
