NYTimes: Belgium Commemorates Waterloo With a Coin, and France Is Not Pleased
After France objected to a coin commemorating the Battle of Waterloo, Belgium invoked a little-known European Union rule that allowed it to issue the money anyway.

Apple's technology is truly something to stand in awe of, pretty neat that they have been able to take something that Google has done perfectly for years and then break it into a thousand misaligned pieces.

Columbia is ranked as the toughest college in the country and U of C is ranked in the top ten; now I understand why I am so tired.

A summary of a very interesting economic paper on monopolies and inovation
The evolution of computing platforms over the last decade shows that innovative rivals can have more of an effect than antitrust cases, an economist writes.

Great spot, I eat here all the time. Baked goods are great so are the sandwiches. Be forewarned that there is limited seating, so you should be prepared to carry out and sit in one of the great local parks if the weather is nice.

I used these guys to move up from Texas six months ago and while the initial contracting and packing seemed to go well, my shipment was then delayed and when it showed up there was considerable damage to a lot of stuff. I expected that the insurance policy I paid for would cover it and that while a hassle, all would be take care of. Wrong! Six months later, more than a dozen emails and they still have not cut a check. Their opening offer was to reimburse me for about a quarter of the damages they caused. I have had to press them weekly to move and they have been very slow to respond to everything (it took seven requests to get them to even look at my insurance claim and approve it). My advice would be to use a national carrier next time. I gave these guys a shot because I like to use local businesses. My new advice is get your meat from a local butcher and your produce from a local farm. But leave moving to the professionals, I would use a national carrier if I could do it all over again.

Pizza is fine, but not worth traveling for. It is our easy neighborhood pick up. They regularly screw up the order if you order a custom pizza, but they are fast so everything is a trade off

Great addition to Gloucester! One of the best public places to have a late evening drink. Waitstaff is helpful and professional, but they do need a little work on managing parties. Very impressed with the venue and food.

Reasonable selection of wine and beer, priced for its location, friendly staff. If you need something quick and don't want to shoot into Gloucester or Rockport, this is a great option.
