Beautiful and unforgettable place. Historic, comfortable and inviting. Front desk staff quality of customer service unparalleled to any others in the area. This is a must stay location, yes, for a family of four. Just made my lists of recommended locations.

I have had some of my best 4th of July holidays here. My wife and I (and others) book a day tubing on the Shenandoah with Shenandoah outfitters, come back to the Inn and then walk into town for a great fireworks display and festival. Being able to walk to and from the fireworks is a BIG improvement over some of our experiences where it takes hours just to get home. I love the grandeur of the Inn and the people are always very nice.

My husband and I stayed at the Mimslyn Inn just for one night on the fourth of July and it was just perfect! Such a charming and historic hotel. The staff was wonderful and so polite. We hung by the pool for a little and got dinner at the speakeasy. The food was pretty good and very reasonable. Would recommend it and try to stay on the third floor if possible, better views.

I stayed at the inn on a groupon deal. I got a great deal.. The place was gorgeous. It was better then any hotel i have stayed in. The grandness of the hotel took my breath away. The views were incredible.I was greeted by a bell hop opening the door with a warm friendly welcome and offer to take my suitcases to my room, The room was nicely decorated. Very comfortable and clean. Side note room 219 ans 221 have the great view, but right out your window is the air conditioning units. So look up. I am sure this is the groupon rooms. I went to dinner at the circa restaurant and ordered the 4 course dinner that came with the groupon. 4 course dinner. Small portions.but it was delicious, this was 2 hours long. This is common, for an upscale dinner. The speak easy restaurant was a great place too .The employees were great very accommodating. The bartender ,Sonny, makes great drinks. I would go back.

My wife and I were more than pleased with the room, service, meals, entertainment. We actually stumbled upon the Mimslyn, and was over taken by the awesome beauty of the landscape, the building was attractive and we just was at home. We had planned to stay at another location, but Mimslyn was so superior for the area, we just had to stay. We spent our 37th wedding anniversary here and plan to revisit again in the near future.

Outstanding. Gorgeous property with an amazing view. Two restaurants/bars or a five minute walk to Main Street. Room was larger than I expected and the staff was super helpful. The huge front porch is full of rocking chairs. Great way to relax with a bottle of wine after a long day of sightseeing! Will absolutely be back.

My wife and I went to Shenandoah (hiking, Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive, etc.) for the weekend to celebrate our first anniversary, and we stayed at The Mimslyn Inn. I can't say enough how great our stay was. The staff was very friendly, the views spectacular, the room and bathroom were spacious (my wife loved the heat lamp in the bathroom), and the bed was very comfortable. We stayed in room 104. We were still full (and tired) from hiking the GW National Forest, so we stayed in and ate downstairs at the Speakeasy. We snacked on nachos (excellent) and oyster stew (which was tasty, with only two oysters per bowl though). Our bartender made sure to point out a selection of local wines on the menu that were half-priced, so we ended up enjoying a very nice local (St. Michel) Cab for about $15. The Speakeasy also featured a guy singing/playing guitar - who was outstanding. We were in a rush to head out in the morning so we didn't get a chance to eat breakfast, but just off the main lobby is a restaurant serving a buffet breakfast that looked amazing. We did grab a couple complimentary coffees and muffins in the lobby before we left for the Caverns though. Will definitely go back if I'm down in that part of Virginia again.
