Skynet is coming. The interesting part of this story is the change in strategy. IBM's efforts in the past with Deep Blue playing chess focused on computing all of the possible outcomes for a chess match, and then working backwards to select the next move,

Google's approach is based on machine learning (ie learning to play the game). In a game that has a virtually unlimited amount of permutations, the program must act more like a human than a machine.

Skynet here we come!

Amazon Workspaces (VDI) now supports audio input (and Lync Meetings) along with High DPI monitors. If you are still forced to use Windows from time-to-time but can't endure the insanity as your daily machine, this is a great solution.

The traditional PC is being disrupted and it will not play the dominate role in computing that it once did. Lower cost, more specialized approaches to computing like Android and ChromeOS (and yes, iOS) are and will continue to overtake the PC.

It looks like BMW is taking a bold move; and it's not just the value of being able to send an email when you car is speeding. They are investing in becoming a digital company by developing a very thoughtful set of public APIs that anyone can tap into. I can want to see what apps/integrations come from this.

Three pretty big infrastructure features launched recently by the Google Cloud Platform team point to them doubling down on the enterprise after the announcement of Diane Greene. If you haven't looked lately, check out the new custom VM sizing, next general SQL, and today, Google CDN.
