Skipping crooked Lines
Since a young girl, I've been fascinated with water skippers. My love of all things water and lines come together here, for me, a soothing image.
This taken whilst on a hike, beside the Crooked river (no joke) one eve last week.
For my friends that have been following me for a few years now: I applied for an arts residency program, for my photography, that is world renowned. Out of a record number of applicants (nearly 170) for approx 10-12 slots, I made the top ten for 2 of the judges but didn't make the final cut. The year 2015 is out for that program. I'm encouraged to apply again but I shall press on for other opportunities and residencies to apply to in the meantime.
I have this dread that if I don't push and believe in myself I shall shrivel up and quit, which is not in my nature.
I have a few more pics to post and share so keep your eyes peeled
Chow friends! Reenie....:-))

Blocks of Light

I'm excited to share a photo from my photo exploration a few weeks ago. I have been editing several pictures since that night and have decided this is the one to share.
I was fortunate enough to get to view a showing of Escher prints a few months back. I've been told that some of my work is similar to his work. He worked in a different medium but with the same love of lines and puzzles. I simply cannot leave an image alone, but must flip and turn it until it can have an effect of a puzzle or labyrinth.
In this image I've attempted to keep the light central. As in life, we cannot appreciate the good without first seeing the bad or the light without the darkness. I am so grateful to many moments of light and life and am here to tell you that after experiencing so much darkness in life, it makes me that much more joyful in the times of goodness.
Be well my friends!!

Alley Light
I am part of a Meetup group with different challenges for each get together. This last challenge was Street Light magic. Here is a shot from a back alleyway. This is SFC except a bit of a 'twist' on it, which I find I MUST do to many of my pics lol

Light beyond the Wall
I remain hopeful that though life is full of so many challenges and unsure, there is a bright future ahead. With so many dear friends, I endure the times of difficulty. I enjoyed a night of street walking to capture night shots.
+Aaron Tani You, my buddy, are one of the bright spots in this life...thank you for being there for me.

Coloured lines
I'm one of those people that really like to do my work in B&W. For me to do a pic in colour like this is a bit out of the ordinary. I think this could work with all the different shades as such but the colours were quite extraordinary as it was. This is SFC.
I have a friend that said when I start shooting more colour he feels like I will be coming to the other side of the grief. The grief, over much loss recently, is overwhelming at times but I do still enjoy the colour that brightens our days.
I hope you enjoy this little 'twist' on an ordinary subject. This printed out on metallic paper looks pretty cool. I just got it in the mail this week.....shimmery.

One Year Later Wow....cannot believe it's been a yr since I've posted. For all my friends that are used to seeing my posts and may have noticed my absence. I've had to move 4 times since I visited with you. Life! Geez haha. I remain optimistic, yet it has been a struggle to say the least! Many of you may recall that the reason I moved back to my homestate of Oregon was to be near my family, particularly my Dad who (as it turned out only told me)  had cancer spreading. My brother, Scott and I spent many days and nights doing fun stuff, like hikes  with him during 2012-13, then sat at his bedside as the pain and cancer overtook him last Nov.
When I found myself starting life over again again, on my own (back from a 4 mo stay in Hawaii-was engaged), I wanted to stay near family; cultivating that relationship...strained as it had been since I was a teen.
Soooo...long story that may get longer...I moved to Bend, OR to be near my brother. We've had many hikes and hangouts...mostly fulfilling my motto, "DO EPIC SHIT!". The craft beers here are top-notch so I can't (or cahn't, is how I pronounce it, a certain English chap got me started on that haha ;-}) complain.
I ramble, of course. I should be headed downtown with my camera and sip wine at the First Friday Artsy Fartsy event but find myself tied to this laptop lol.
I post for you a couple pics that I took recently. (Going a little crazy not having the architecture here in Bend to pump those creative juices).
As always, any and all critiques welsome!!
Visit and purchase from my website or contact me. Would love to hear from you!
