Misty Moon over Water
I was ever so grateful to be on the coast the end of April for warm sunny days and the full moon at night!! I took pics at 2230 and again at 0300-0430. This pic is from about 0400. I had the beach to myself the whole time. I love the solitude my times away afford me. It is here, more than anywhere, that I feel my inner battery recharging and the the emotional/spiritual/physical buttons getting a 'reset' :-}
People oft remark that they would be too scared to be out here in the middle of nowhere, in the dark, alone. There is not much out here in the wee hours of the night that is not in the day, haha. Don't get me wrong, I take precautions, yet fear (and it's close cousin, doubt) is the greatest predator I've encountered thus far in my life.
As I sit on a park bench at Indian Beach, my mobile office (the laptop tethered to my iPhone's wifi), I write to you now to post this image. I know, life is rough huh?? LOL Life has not always been so peachy, however, and is only now that I am reaping the harvest of much faith and tenacity as I charged, or simply held on with bits of fingernails, through explosive and eviscerating turmoil. Even as I share this I am not sure where my home will be in the next 72 hrs. I need to be out of my flat ASAP and am praying for the right place to move on to. God is great and has given a lead through a friend that looks very promising indeed.
Forgive the long-windedness of my missive. I tend to do that, haha. If you are still reading, I thank you for caring this much for my adventures as well as my image. Please let me know how you are doing and if there is any way that I can help you in any of life's rocky places. Thanks ahead of time to all my dear friends that support me personally and professionally. I will not likely get back to this post to give the usual thanks to you by name for any 1+'s or comments that you may leave here, as I will be packing and moving. I'll try to get back to let you know my whereabouts once settled in.
Have a lovely day!!
Reenie :-))

Tillamook Lighthouse

I spent two days at the coast this week. Took tons of pics but can't keep from sharing a sunset image from my favorite beach, Indian Beach. This is SFC.
Besides laying in the sun for a couple hours, playing in the waves and going for a hike, I had the luxury of the quiet of the night with a full moon reflecting on the waves. More of those pics to come!! If any of my fellow Oregon photogs are out there...I need to get a photowalk together...stay tuned. Take care of yourselves my friends :-))

Haystack Reflection
In conjunction with the B&W I posted a few days back, here we have a colour image for your perusal. Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach, a lava formation as I understand it. The sunny day, last summer, was reflected well in the ebb and flow of the waves upon the sand.
I hope all my G+ friends are well.

Light in the Twilight
"Lend me your eyes I can change what you see
But your soul you must keep, totally free"...
From the song_"Awake my Soul"_~ Mumford & Sons
I had the day off today....I went for a hike...big surprise! NOT! for my dear friends that know me :-}
I planned my day over to the coast, packing the usual items for a photo/hike and day at the beach. I am a planner/organizer, so I had the packing done last night and was on my way after breakfast. There had been 15-20 mi traveled when I suddenly couldn't think where my purse was in my packs and truly believed I remembered it last hanging on the door of my room, ugh. I had no money or cards on me. Pleasantly, I was surprised but not extremely, that not a swear word came to mind or despairing thought of turning 'round. Having packed enough water, jerky and trail mix, I knew that I could make it the whole day. I'd even thought of offering to take a picture, and send a print, for someone in exchange for a beer in the evening but was fine either way. Punt!!
I saw a card this eve that said, "Life is learning to go with Plan B"....so true, that! I had prepared as well as possible and didn't freak out when given the obstacle. As it turned out it was in the beach tote so all was well. Though a new friend that finished up surfing the same time I came off the 6-7 mi hike bought me a clam chowder dinner in Cannon Beach... so I was set all along, haha!
I've done two mountain hikes solo this week. I plan to go on as many as possible before the rainy season takes hold. My soul is awakening more and more and I'm finding a balance of who I am and what I can do on my own. Learning to be content with who I am and where I am, regardless of how little progress toward my goals I've made. I'll continue to push toward them but am peaceful now.
I pray that you, too, can be peaceful...even in the midst of life's storms.
Be well!
Reenie
This is SFC btw, as so many of mine are, as I'm not so good with the dials and switches in LR, haha!

Do you want a hint? If I know you at all, you'd like to figure this puzzle out on your own, lol.
Tough weeks pile up, don't they? Ugh! Be well my friend :-))

Of course you can tell right off I like lines and variations of shadows, lol! I also love to pick out a section of something and twist it differently than what it was....maybe I'm a little 'off'', but I like to think I'm artistic ;-)
 I went to Cathedral Park to take pics of the St. John's Bridge today and spent most of the time getting strange angles of the cement 'footings' of Portland's only steel suspension bridge. I plan to return to get better shots of the whole bridge at better lighting times.

This from a hike a few weeks back, in the Columbia Gorge. I had my Canon Rebel along but this was snapped with the iphone. This is 'SFC' albeit the B&W conversion of course.
Now that me and the boyfriend are done I'm finding I have more time to spend on my pics....funny how that happens lol ;-)

Haystack Rock
A re-post for a friend, from last summer at Cannon Beach. This well known formation is a magnet for tourists and locals alike. At low tide there is a massive amount of sea life to be seen among the rocks at it's base. I've been here so many times but I never grow tired of it or the sea. I shall post colour pics of this as well but this is my favorite, (looks neat printed on metallic paper).

Blue Brick & Water
This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.” :-}
Thanks soooo much to my dear, though very new, friend +Jim Nooney You've helped add smiles to my life, for that I'm very grateful! As in this image...the hardness in life often leads us to beautiful things!

Healing Bruises
Portland Photowalk 9 AM under Portlandia Statue, side note here, haha!
I LOVE to hike!! These bruises are from a few weeks ago hiking but they serve the purpose for my story, lol!
I lived through 22 years of great difficulty in a marriage. I won't get too personal but it was emotionally damaging. There are ways to injure people that you cannot see, as these bruises.
I wear my heart on my sleeve to make a point and hopefully save someone else the heartache. Now, when I'm treated with anger and/or disrespect I stand up for myself and don't allow it.
So, please, if you are in that type of situation or if you are the cause of such, get help somehow. Treat others as you would have them treat you....be kind to one another :-)
This image is to show moody and sadness. This is not me now. I am very joyful, blessed and grateful for my new lease on life!! :-}
Everyone comments on how cheerful and smiley I am. There is life beyond a damaging relationship.
So....there you have it folks, haha. A selfy that is too early for the Sunday edition but I wanted to get this up and remind those in the Portland area that I'm starting a photowalk under Portlandia statue at 9 AM!! Be there :-)
