Increased footfall is great of course. Would be nice if we knew the numbers though. From what to what?

Contrary to popular belief it isn't necessary to have a political system dominated by parties.

An interesting argument for Scottish independence. The bold conclusion is worth noting.
"There is no political solution, it is a system problem and so no change of the party of Government without a corresponding change in the democratic system of Government can make a difference."

720 words that tells you what's wrong with the world economy and how to fix it. Please do read it and tell me if, by this definition, you're a Georgist too.

In a move that is likely to gain a few smirks, Tesco is choosing to get over the horsemeat scandal with a more exotic acquisition. Wise?

A hipster would have a great comment right now. I, however, am speechless.

But shadow Treasury minister Chris Leslie denied their was a disagreement between Mr Davies and the party leadership.
He told the BBC News Channel: "He's saying make sure that we don't let the Conservatives get away with the lie that somehow it was Gordon Brown who single-handedly, in the UK, caused the global financial crisis."

No-one thinks Gordon Brown done it single-handedly. Ed Miliband and Ed Balls were in the thick of it too in the Treasury bunker. Perhaps if they didn't have their two senior leaders so deeply implicated then Labour might be faring better in the polls and be able to communicate a credible message on the economy. However, until their ousting, they won't.

The notion of getting more businesses started up is an excellent one. What I do find odd is the conclusion that the best thing someone can do with £500 of startup funding is to buy a nice shiny new laptop. Very strange.

Agreed! I was whole-heartedly behind it until that last statement! Most peculiar.

Compared to eggs, milk and bread house prices have inflated by between 4 and 7 times as much. Supply and demand? Don't think so...
