I'm looking for some seriously advanced SEO concepts for a presentation I'm doing for our #SEOMeetup group.

The topic is: SEO is Easy, SEO is Hard

Not looking for things that are in everybody's list of 200+ ranking signals. I've already got enough of the "easy" examples. I'm looking for speculation on things that are probably in patents & papers.

My purpose is not to definitively state advanced factors in SEO. It's more about exposing non-SEO's to the many, many advanced topics that we run across on a daily basis.

I've already gotten quite a few ideas from +Bill Slawski 's excellent http://www.seobythesea.com/ Blog. +Jeremy Rivera has also helped come up with several ideas.

Any specific papers, patent or concepts that might help me make the point?

Any interesting hypotheses on advanced SEO (whether you agree with them or not) that you can share with me?

btw, I recently came across a Bing patent that had some interesting onsite concepts that might be useful for this presentation. Can't find that patent now. Anybody remember seeing something like that?

Are you blogging on Linkedin?

Here's a good discussion on some #seo aspects of posting the same content at multiple websites. My suggestion, don't do it. Use unique content whenever you can.
QUESTION: Since LinkedIn now allows people to repost blogs on their site - does this count as duplicate content? See the grab below - both instances of the post rank - but will LinkedIn soon climb above the original? Thank you.
