I’m doing it! I am doing a one time only CHICAGO FLAG TOUR! Hell yes. July 3rd. 10:30AM. Get up on it: http://ow.ly/Kp5r30189CL
Chicago is a proud and strong city. We show our pride by sporting the Chicago flag on almost everything we own. The Chicago flag tour will explain it all.

The more I work on it, change it and rework it, the more I see that the Winter Tour is really for locals: http://ow.ly/VYHfA
The Winter Tour is just as much fun for locals as it is for tourists! See Chicago in a way you normally don't. FUN.

The tour people hate the most is the same tour people love the most: http://ow.ly/U8mEM
I do all kinds of tours, but the best tours are the ones that are the hardest to get people to go on - the early morning tours.

A touree asked me what our relationship to the lake is. I thought about it for a long time. Here’s my answer: http://ow.ly/T1Ejl
On a tour recently, I'm walking with a young, very neat couple from Kansas; we're yapping about all kinds of things: Chicago, architecture, what we're like, what they're like and it really felt like we had covered a lot of information. And then: “So, what about the lake?” ...

As we get closer to the Eastland 100th Anniversary, here are some thoughts (from me!) on how we honor & how we don’t: http://ow.ly/PEPpX
One hundred years ago the Eastland tipped over and killed 844 people. We honor this disaster, what about our other ones?

Tour Guide trip to the @artinstitutechi - I spent the most of the time looking at the architecture. Heh: http://ow.ly/YkWJZ
I had a few hours, last "free" day at the Art Institute and I pretty much managed to just look at the architecture. heh.

It took me 4 hours to walk to Ravenswood from the Loop, but it was awesome. Would you come on a long walk with me? http://ow.ly/UhACJ
On a beautiful day in early November, I had a some free time on my hands, so I decided to walk home to Ravenswood from the Loop. It took me hours.

Okay, so there’s going to be a Jane Jacobs/Robert Moses opera. No really. There is too: http://ow.ly/TEk26
It’s a love triangle—with both figures “vying for the love of the city.”

YAY! @TheSecondCity made the list of the 5 Must See tours in the Trib! There’s some doozy pics of me, hilarious: http://ow.ly/PnX1E
Summer in Chicago often feels like the season of big-ticket items — from Grateful Dead farewell concerts to Taste of Chicago to Lollapalooza . But get away from the crowds, and the land, and you can find hidden pockets of Chicago history and architecture while still enjoying the summer weather. Here are just a few tours tailor-made for introducing visitors to our town — and for reminding natives why we live here.

Margaret is BY FAR the most entertaining tour guide in the city of Chicago. Her experience with improv, her vast knowledge of (and continuing research on) our fair city, and her hysterical personality combine magically to give her tour groups a fantastic and unique experience every single time. I have enjoyed her tours more times than I can count and am always energized and excited about Chicago (more than usual!) by the time she's done. I HIGHLY recommend any tour from her: you won't be disappointed!

I went on the Chicago Elevated Winter tour and saw a peaceful quiet beautiful side of a city I lived in for more than 10 years. Margaret provided us with heated coats, a knowledge of the city from the inside out and a warm love for Chicago that you could feel in the cold. Thank you Margaret Hicks and Chicago Elevated ---Top Notch Tour!

I have taken multiple tours from Chicago Elevated, and they are the best! Margaret Hicks is the writer and tour guide, and she is smart, funny, and engaging. The signature tour is of the Chicago Pedway, a series of tunnels under the Loop, and Margaret really brings it to life. Every winter, she does an outdoor tour of the lakefront, and she provides electric heated coast to keep tourists warm. The tours are ever changing, which keeps it fun and fresh and great for return visits. I have encountered locals and out-of-towners on her tours, and everyone agrees that she is the best. There is no better tour in Chicago than Margaret and Chicago Elevated!
