I was looking for a way to create new chat rooms, with a focus on customer acquisition and project management. My preferred technological stack is Javascript which would lower the barrier of entry for those who desire to modify the source code. https://rocket.chat/ is a good candidate with flexible MIT license.

Looking for an alternative to Slack, check out http://www.mattermost.org/

Simply amazing technology announced today at #io2015. First it starts with announcing tiny radar to bring new levels of interactivity to our connected world. Next, we seen textiles bring life to clothing . Then security, a small intro using micro sdcards with a micro computer atom processor that emulates storage on the device with a driverless approach. I will admit this new security will open up new levels of security for examples, storage of cryto-currency assets. To top it off we were entertained with new tools for multimedia industry with full 360 cinema. Then in conclusion of our session, project Ara was demonstrated. The demo displayed project Ara progress with on the fly plug-and-play capability with camera module a live audience photo shot.

Interesting rumors regarding smart socks within ATAP session at #io2015. If this is true then it will be purely for demonstration of IOT(Intent of Things) technology being able to integrate directly into our clothing. This has been done before with various Arduino options. For instance, Arduino LilyPad http://ow.ly/NBL1s
It seems the focus is regarding the creation of a common standard to build from for full connectivity. Google is attempting to set this standard with offerings such as Project #Brillo and #WEAVE.

Attending Google I/O, so far an interesting experience. First, the security has increased, organization regarding entry to sessions has changed, and the overall environment is vastly different. Whats more interesting is the percentage of women attendees; a welcoming change.
My favorite experience was during the keynote, we learned the advancements with connectivity with third world countries with a focus on education. For example, project cardboard which is allowing teacher and students to take virtual field trips allowing students to engage by increasing their attention on the topic at hand.

Google Cloud Messaging (also known as GSM) Sandbox talk focused on whats new with GSM. Its exciting to see GSM create a true cross platform service allowing developers a single point upon application creation regarding connectivity. In addition, a new service layer called 'Topics' which will allow you to engage your audience by allowing your users to select topics of interest which you then can push to those specific users.

Simple and reliable messaging to reach over a billion devices.

How to hide your API Key in Android http://ow.ly/2YoTE4
Many Android apps that interact with the cloud use a client - server architecture with the phone acting as a client and much of the heavy lifting taking place on the server. Sometimes you have control over the server, and sometimes it's a third party who provides the data, e.g. traffic updates, stock market data, or weather information etc. Typically these third party providers use an API key as a simple authentication mechanism to grant access t...
