That was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We had 7:00 reservations today. We were seated at 6:56. So far, so good. It took 20 mins for someone to come over to our table. She didn't give her name. She asked if anyone had helped us and once we said no, she replied that she would go ahead and take our order. After being at the table for 35 minutes, we got bread. I ordered a peach bellini. It arrived in a short martini glass with cut strawberries in it. It tasted like cheap vodka. No champagne in sight. After being at the table for an hour, we decided to leave. We stopped at the host stand to ask to speak to a a manager. The waitress came over because she saw we were leaving. There were two managers standing about 50 feet from us. She went over to tell them we were leaving and asked to speak to them. They debated about who was coming over. The one who did come over wasn't even coming to the host stand to talk to us. The waitress had to stop him and explain that we were leaving and that he should talk to us. His excuse was that one server went home sick and nobody knew who was covering that section. He acknowledged that wasn't an excuse for us having been there for an hour without food. To top this all off, the music from the adjacent lounge was loud and did nothing to add to the ambience. And to make matters worse, the restroom was FILTHY. I'm not sure who is responsible for running this restaurant, but the ball wasn't only dropped, it was ran over and deflated. My husband made reservations and was looking forward to taking me here for Mother's Day because I love seafood. It's unfortunate that this was our first encounter with your establishment, because based on this experience, we are hard pressed to return. There are too many other seafood restaurants (Ocean Prime, Big Fish, Bonefish, Kruse & Muer) around to have to settle for this type of service.

Ambiance was ok. Trout was not available so i was upgraded to undercooked swordfish. Steak was overcooked. Wish i would took my girlfriend somewhere better for her birthday. She took me to joe muers, i was hoping to match the fine dining experience she gave me.

I had the bacon wrapped scallops. They were fantastic. Best I have had in years.

Our group of 10 people had dinner reservations on a Monday evening, in January-2014. Our reservation was for 6:00 PM but we did not leave the restaurant until 9:00 PM - not because we wanted to. Typically Monday is not a busy evening for restaurants; however, busy or not, the service at this restaurant was abysmal! It took over 30 minutes just to get wine served to the group. We then ordered a bottle of white wine, which was never delivered. It appeared as though the staff was goofing off and not paying attention to our groups needs/service/wishes. We are with a major company downtown and this was the first time at the Detroit Seafood Market for most people, and we had people in attendance from out-of-town. Needless to say, we will not be back. It's too bad because we have frequent dinner events and love to frequent the fine restaurants in the Downtown Detroit area but will will definitely cross the Detroit Seafood Market off our list.

This restaurant has wonderful food, however, the overall service is horrible! We made reservations for 6:00pm, and we actually were not seated until 6:30! While waiting to be seated, 2 couples who came in after us and who also had 6:00 reservations were seated before us! The host was a hot mess. His voice, tone, and overall demeanor were very hostile. He was also extremely unorganized. In addition to the host, our waiter was also horrible. We couldn't understand a single word he said. He also never even bothered to refill our drinks. We saw the bus boy and the food runner more than our actual waiter. Overall, I have never felt so much reverse racism and reverse ageism at a restaurant. I will never eat at this restaurant again. I would never recommend people eat at this restaurant either.

Four of us ate here the evening of Wednesday, March 12, to celebrate an anniversary. We had a great time. Two of us parked across the street for $5 in a lot, and two of us parked on the street. The service and food were great. We were served biscuits (with butter) while we waited for our meals, and the waiter refreshed the biscuits upon request. The soup and our main courses were properly prepared. (We had salmon and all-you-can eat crab legs among our meals.) The waiter refreshed the lemonade carafe of one party member without being prompted. We each ordered dessert of some sort, and those were good. Everyone was friendly. In short: no issues. We would return.

Used a groupon at this location. The Seafood mac and cheese was horrible. I would recommend the same dish at the Harbor House Detroit. My wife had fish that was clearly old and fishy tasting. My main dish was fine. The wait staff was also pleasant. When we used the groupon the manager would only offer the coupon at the money value I paid for the coupon. Not an honorable way of doing business! !!
