“Looking for hope? Here’s where to find it. An inspiring account of the grassroots leaders throughout the United States who are confronting racism, the climate crisis, and poverty.” — Van Jones

Today marks the official publishing launch of YES! co-founder +Sarah van Gelder's new book, The Revolution Where You Live [+Berrett-Koehler Publishers].

With the election of #DonaldTrump, we know that local resistance and renewal are more vital than ever. The Revolution Where You Live offers an inspiring look into the grassroots movement-building and innovation that is already taking place across the country, outside of the general media view.

The book traces Sarah's 12,000 mile solo road trip across the U.S. in her tiny truck camper -- through rust belt cities, Native reservations, Appalachia, and the south. Camping along the way, taking time to meet with youth, elders, teachers, artists, activists and other local leaders, Sarah's "slow journalism" reporting journey shows us communities on the rise.

If you didn't order The #RevolutionWhereYouLive during our pre-publication sale, you can still get a special YES! discount at: https://store.yesmagazine.org/…/the-revolution-where-you-l…/

Sarah's book tour and media events kick off this month. For a full schedule, see: https://revolutionwhereyoulive.org

It’s not that she’s lost her passion for vegetables. It’s just that she’s come to believe that no amount of organizing can beat big agriculture—or any major industry, for that matter—unless the United States finds a way to get money out of politics. Democracy, she says, is the “mother of all issues.”

#DemocracySpring #GetMoneyOut
On April 11, thousands of marchers with Democracy Spring will arrive in the nation’s capital. It’s expected to be the largest civil disobedience action in decades.

#DemocracySpring‬ kicks off today with a 140 mile march from Philly to Washington, DC. More than 6,000 people have signed up to participate. If Congress hasn't take action on getting money out of politics by the time the marchers arrive, 3,000 people have pledged that they're ready to risk arrest in a weeklong series of mass sit-ins.

Will they succeed in moving the needle? Here are six reasons to be optimistic about the future of campaign finance reform in the U.S.
Signs of change are cropping up everywhere from grassroots actions to the presidential campaigns.
