Now Roald Dahl didn't just write children's fiction, he also ventured into fiction for adults too. Although these are considerably darker than the children's counterparts, they have provided many adults with many a chuckle or wince.

Happy publishing day to The Hunger Games. 9 years ago, Suzanne Collins brought us the brutal fictional world in which children fight for their districts to please The Capitol. The books had many young adults engrossed and a lot of us here in World of Books HQ were besotted with Katniss and her adventures in the games in our morning commutes.
So happy publishing day and may the odds be ever in your favour.

Many of us can appreciate that the books are better than films and TV adaptations. On screen, characters can come across wrong and the stories are cut to fit a certain timeframe.
However, we're loving these book to TV adaptations, and we can not wait to see more! Read more in our blog here http://ow.ly/ucWg30eO7px

Like many, we are obsessed with Bake Off. With its international success on the BBC, will Channel 4 be able to maintain the high standards and innuendos of the old series? With only Paul Hollywood retaining his original place, we have new presenters and a new judge. All eyes will be on you, Channel 4.

Read more in our blog about why we love Bake Off, we are sorry but this does contain a few Mary Berry points... How can we not? http://ow.ly/gxAD30etG66
