Woodward Japan members are celebrating an important milestone: the delivery of the 10,000th UG-25+ unit!

The UG-25+ is a self-contained, mechanical-hydraulic governor with a digital control to ensure accurate speed control for both steam turbines and engines. Since its new release in 2006, over 10,000 units have now been delivered to customers in Japan and Korea.

Woodward is one of four new members to join Rockwell Automation's Encompass™ Partner Program. The Encompass™ Partner program allows customers to easily locate products to solve specific application challenges. The compatibility of Woodward's and Rockwell Automation's energy control products allow customers an easier way of solving complex energy management applications.
The partnership will be promoted at the Rockwell Automation Fair in Houston November 15-16, 2017.

Members from the Niles and Woodward locations joined forces in the 2017 Law Enforcement Torch Run Plane Pull to benefit the Special Olympics Illinois. 81 teams participated in this tug-of-war competition, battling a UPS Airbus A300 or United Airlines 737. The team, "We Are Woodward 1," raised $2,730 and came in 6th place for the second year in a row. They moved their Airbus A300 12 feet in 19.07 seconds. Special Olympics of Illinois received a total of $130,000 from the event. Airbus has begun the final assembly of its first A330neo. Woodward's Airframe Systems provides the TRAS (Thrust Reverser Actuation System) to Safran Nacelles for the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines on the A330neo.

Great members, paired with improved technologies, allow us to make superior products. Woodward member Addam Heidick is pictured in our new paint shop, located within the Industrial Turbomachinery Systems department. The new paint floor is larger, safer, and contains state-of-the-art painting equipment.

Amid the company of executives, dignitaries, and representatives, Woodward members in Sofia, Bulgaria recently celebrated the grand opening of their new facility. The new spaces are designed to foster innovation and collaboration across departments.
The facility will accommodate engineering and service on wind converters, as well as manufacturing of electro-mechanical components. Special thanks to all our members for their hard work and cooperation.

We love it when our members cultivate teamwork both on and off the clock!

Recently, members from Sofia, Bulgaria participated in the Legion Run, a team-oriented event with challenging obstacles including mud, fire, and more. Members learned to work together to pass obstacles and maintain the safety of each person on their team.

Bombardier is also expected to display its new CSeries aircraft at the Farnborough International Airshow. Woodward supplies flight deck controls to Bombardier, plus Cargo Compartment Door and APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) door actuation systems. For the Pratt and Whitney PW1524G, which powers the CSeries variants, Woodward supplies an actuation suite and oil valve packages to UTAS, and fuel nozzles to Pratt and Whitney.
The CSeries CS100 was delivered to Swiss Airlines in late June and is expected to enter service in mid-July.
