Don't forget that entries for WEHoRR 2012 close at 8pm tomorrow (Friday). And if your entry isn't paid for, it won't count.

We need volunteers! We'd love some extra hands on our timing team and extra feet for our Putney marshaling team on Saturday.

If you have a few hours to spare, please email webmaster@wehorr.org.

You'll still be able to watch your favourite crews as they stream by! Please share this post to help spread the word. Thanks!

Three weeks after the 2011 race, one of the competitors, Dr Jenny Bucknell from Cardiff University Rowing Club (CURC), sadly passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition.

Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) organises free screening events for anyone aged 14 to 35 where people can be tested to determine if they are at risk. These events occur every other weekend in St George's, Tooting, as well as at locations around the country. For details see here: http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/ecg.htm.

Only 6 hours left to get your entry for WEHoRR 2012 in! Make sure it's in and paid for - there's quite a few clubs who still need to pay.

Biggest women's rowing race in the world
Introduction
The Women’s Eights Head of the River Race follows the ‘Championship Course’ along the River Thames between Mortlake and Putney in London.

At 4 miles 374 yards (6.8 kilometres) it is the longest time trial race for women’s crews and is the focus event for many crews’ winter training.

The Women’s Head takes place each March, a few weeks before both the men’s equivalent Head of the River Race and the University Boat Race, which is run on the same course but in the opposite direction.
