That God Of Elijah (Part 3)
Text:                                      2Kgs. 4:1-7

Introduction:

For sometime now, we have been on this serial, lifting up and applying truths from the ministry of a man who had absolute trust in the God of his master (cons. Rom. 15:4; Mal. 3:6).

Our case study at hand is a testimony of the faithfulness of God which always follows when the enabling environment is created.  We shall be looking at two points: (a). The Passionate Cry In The Perturbing Crisis (b). The Prophet’s Command And The Perfect Consolation.

The Passionate Cry In The Perturbing Crisis (2Kgs. 4:1-2).

‘Passionate’ means ‘Something showing or inspired by strong emotion’. Perturb means ‘To cause to be anxious’. There, was a widow whose husband faithfully served the Lord but was definitely ignorant of the privileges of his office (Ps. 37:25; Deut. 28:1-3, 11-13).  His ignorance put to jeopardy the life and freedom of the hapless widow and her two sons (cont. Prov. 13:22a), and the woman was greatly distressed when the unforgiving creditor arrived, as she had no answer for his demands, therefore she cried out!

There was a very positive aspect of the widow: she had confidence in the ability of the prophet. Her expectation might have been for some direct intervention by way of giving financial help or assuaging the creditor (cp. Act. 3:2-5; 2Kgs. 4:13). The widow never knew that she still had something that could be used to abate her sorrow.

Application: There may be people whose life challenges have led them into crises that seemingly look insurmountable as there seems to be no help from any quarters - spiritual, physical, financial, material, matrimonial, academic matters apparently asking ‘where is your God?’ (Ps. 42:3-5). Though you think you have nothing; be informed that you have something which God would use to attend to your needs.

The Prophet’s Command And The Perfect Consolation (2Kgs. 4:3-7).

The well informed prophet who knew his authority commanded her to do what she was able to do (i) go and borrow empty vessels, (ii) separate yourself and your threatened sons from the public, (iii) begin to pour the available resource (oil) into the empty vessels. As the widow obeyed without manifesting doubt or unbelief, her situation was turned around. She did not get only the antidote to her indebtedness, but rather an elixir to her poverty (Eph. 3:20; Jer. 32:27).  Her needs (not wants) were met!

Application: In this time of Divine Visitation, the Lord is set to do great things, and the miracles of the bible-times are set to be replicated in the ministry of the Watchmen. Watchmen must move away from making requests for the provision of only their immediate needs, but rather for continuous sustenance.  The vessel required of you today is faith and fervent prayers.  Your needs shall be met in Jesus’ name (Isa. 41:17-21; 42:5-16; 43:18-19; 44:2-5).  Your pot of oil is any precious seed that you have to sow.

YOU ARE A PRINCESS
#YOU #ARE #A #PRINCESS.

Lady: (Bewildered) You mean me???

Voice: Yes, you.

Lady: (Perplexed) How can you call me a princess
even when am living a terrible lifestyle??
Please am not at all. Am not worthy of it.

Voice: (Smiles) Oh yes!! You are not just a princess but a Queen.
You are from a royal family and God is your father.
What you need now is for Him to metamorphose your life totally.
And then give you a crown of Glory.

Lady: Hmmmmmm!!!! I don't agree with you.

Voice: Of course you should.
Remember Mary Magdalene???
At the point when Men condemned&wanted to destroy her, Jesus stood by her and she was totally free.
Jesus cannot leave you. He knows you are an instrument in His vineyard and He wants to change and make you efficient.

Lady: Ohh!!!

Who am I that God should be so mindful of me???

Am relieved.
Which means that God has me in mind and am still His heartbeat??

Voice: (In Affirmation) Without a doubt..He is still interested in you.

You are called to be a vessel unto honour not dishonour.
Special breed created by God.
You kneel to pray and God answers.
You are a spiritual warrior.
Women such as Hannah, Deborah, Esther, Mary, etc were stone breakers.

In this generation, you are one of such women.
Don't look down on yourself and the qualities God has given to you, activate and use them.

Be appreciative because God has made you a princess after His own heart.

Make a covenant with God to keep and use you, never to bring shame and reproach.
FORGET THE PAST, FACE TODAY AND THE FUTURE.
YOU CAN BE THE BEST GOD WANTS YOU TO BE.

PRAY AND ASK GOD FOR HIS SUFFICIENT GRACE.

YOU HAVE HIS GLORY AND POWER IN YOU.

To all the Ladies!!!

The Lost Fellowship

Text:                               2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 1:3,7

The term Fellowship, is simply defined as friendly association with others.

As believers in Christ, we are called into association with one another, and with God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Fellowship with the Father and the Son will not be fruitful in this dispensation of grace without fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately, many people in church lose this friendly association without knowing it. Yet the consequence is great.

STAY SEXUALLY PURE

Dear Ladies and teenagers.

Please, If a man continuously pressurize you for sex, visitation, marriage, etc, #WATCH #IT.

It is not for your own interest but for his own selfish reasons...

Not all the "I LOVE YOU" IS TRUE.
SOME MEANS, I LUST AFTER YOU, I WANT TO DESTROY YOU.
When the deed is done, the lust vanishes and you see them no more.

#Be #Wise

Unique Blessing.

THAT GOD OF ELIJAH (Part 1)
Text:              2Kgs. 2:8-16

INTRODUCTION:

Our serial on that God of Elijah begin today with the events that transpired immediately after the departure of Elijah and the anointing of Elisha.

The challenges that emanated were successfully tackled by faith in the God of his master (Mal. 3:6)

The message shall be coming under 2 points:-

The parting of the river
The pledging of allegiance by erstwhile detractors/colleagues

THE PARTING OF THE WATER

The River Jordan is a large flowing river arising at the fort hill of mount Hermon and empties into the dead sea.  It cannot be easily forded (cons. Jos. 3:15; Judg. 12:5-7) and so would require the dexterity of a good swimmer to cross unaided by a bridge or boat.

The opposition stood on the way of the prophet’s return to ministry and he invoked the God of his master (2Kgs. 2:14).

Application: River Jordan represents any obstacle that is standing as a challenge to your advancement/progress spiritually, physically materially, matrimonially, academically etc. (cons. Isa. 8:9-10; Ps. 18:29; 23:4-5).  As we call upon the Almighty God (of Elijah) from the depth of our hearts all such challenges will bow out of the way (Jas. 5:16).

THE PLEDGING OF ALLEGIANCE

As the prophet returned from the field of encounter, all the people that met him perceived the hand of God upon him and so pledged allegiance to his authority(2Kgs. 2:15).

In this period of the history of the Movement, the Lord is set to display His presence in the lives of faithful watchmen.

However, there is a place for praying to realize God’s promises (see Isa. 1:18; 41:21; Dan. 9:2-3; ).

As we pray tonight, the countenance of the Lord shall shine/come upon you, and the Holy Ghost shall go ahead of you to affect the hearts of your ignorant enemies and deal decisively with the diabolical ones (Ps. 4:6; 44:3-6; Pro. 16:7; Isa. 40:4; 45:2-3; 2Tim. 3:8-9).

That God of Elijah, is the Shepherd of Israel and the very God of the Watchman (Ps. 80:1,6-7,14-19).

Rise up to call upon Him.

The End Of The World
(Matt. 24:3).

World here is rendered from the Greek word aion, meaning age, a period of time, long or short.  The phrase, Athe end of the world@, as used here and in some other passages, means Aend of this age@ (Matt.13:39, 40, 49; 28:20).  This age, meaning the dispensation of Christ and the restoration programme, will end with the second advent, which will witness the ushering in of the new heaven and the new earth (Rev. 21:1-4).

It follows that the coming of Christ will mark the end of this polluted world, and the ushering in of a new one (Matt. 12:32; 2Pt. 3:10-13).  So, while the defiled world as it is today, has an end, the earth and man, following the restoration, will last for ever (cp. Gen. 9:12; Ecc. 1: 4; 1Thess. 4:17; Rev. 21:1-4).

KNOWING AND APPRECIATING THE GIFT OF GOD
John 4:1-10,28-30; Matthew 26:6-13

In every generation, there are people who profess to know, worship and serve God like the Samaritan woman. These are individuals who neither understand what they say nor whereof they affirm, because they have substituted  the Way, the Truth and the Life  provided by the God of heaven with human ideas. Real worship begins with having true knowledge and understanding of, and appreciating God’s Gift. Those who do, usually testify, “thanks be to God for His unspeakable( indescribable) gift”(2Cor.9:15).

To have maximum benefits from this message, we shall be considering it in 3 sub-headings: (1) The Gift Of God Explained (2) Knowing And Appreciating The Gift Of God (3) The Attendant Joy

(1)        THE GIFT OF GOD EXPLAINED (John 4:10)

The term, The Gift Of God means Divine Providence to all mankind, willingly and freely given (Rom.5:15-19;   Gen.8:21-22). At the end of creation of heaven and earth, God did not abandon the world to run itself or to be run by Satan. He willingly continues to be involved in the lives and affairs of His people. Being fully aware of human limitations, the wiles of Satan and the attendant struggles before man in the world of sin and wickedness, (although by the choice of man), God, being the Father who is compassionate, loving, and caring, who also watches over what he has made,  sacrificially gave man an unspeakable gift for the purpose of preservation and sustenance of the works of His hands. This gift is also the only means of solution to secular and spiritual problems of man (Heb.1:1-3; Ps.8:3-6).  This gift is His Son Jesus Christ, His express image.

Unlike the Psalmist, multitudes are on the marching order of  the devil to eternity in hellfire with self inflicted injuries of various kinds. Others are running from pillars to posts with every conceivable carnal ideas, desiring changes in their material, financial, and spiritual needs. Worse still, some are in turmoil, suffering from sleepless nights, life of uncertainties with strong persuasion to commit suicide or enter into harmful addictions  because they have  not done the first thing required by God, which is having the Gift Of God. To have it,  one must stop and humbly consider the life of vanity that has exposed him to dangers  of different kinds, and cry out like the Prodigal son for mercy (Lk.15:11-19). This is what leads to a life of peace  from slavery and the hand of seen and unseen forces in the world.

(2)        KNOWING AND APPRECIATING THE GIFT OF GOD (Jn. 4:28-29; Mk.5:18-20; Mt.26:10-13)

Appreciation means being grateful or life of gratitude to God for what He has done for you, others and in this Movement at all times and in all situations. For Mary, her knowledge and appreciation of Jesus Christ stands as a memorial for all to see. Her love and devotion were deep enough that nothing could pull her back or make her compromise her faith in Christ (Lk.11:38-42). To Mary, she has received God’s Gift and a kingdom that cannot be moved, whose maker and builder is God.

What a challenge to all and sundry, particularly to individuals in church who easily give up their faith or stop coming to church for want of what to eat, clothe to put on, where to sleep, distress, and persecution (1Sam.1:3,12; Rom.8:35,37-39). Thank God that you are here now (Mt.5:4). Be assured that you will leave here completely transformed by the power  of the Holy Ghost. You will prove that it is not evil to serve God in Jesus name.

(3)        THE ATTENDANT JOY ( Acts 8:26-27,35-39)

The Ethopian eunuch found himself in a desert( an empty or lonely place, left without help or support, abandoned). Although he was a great man, yet he sincerely sought God’s Gift. And the LORD sent Philip and he ministered the gift to him. On receiving same, he went his way rejoicing with the attendant joy. Friends, what a remarkable blessedness. Every good  gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the father of lights in whom there is no variableness neither shadow  of turning. His gift / blessing makes rich and adds no sorrow. Perhaps, you are like a man in the desert, lonely,  sorrowful and disappointed , altogether abandoned like the Ethopian eunuch.  There is  glad tiding for you now (Acts 8:36,37; Is.50:4,3 ). Things that accompany the Gift Of God will be your lot in Jesus name( Heb.6:9). As the Ethopian eunuch went away from the presence of Philip rejoicing, you will leave here today with such unusual blessings from God that follow all who have accepted His Gift in Jesus name.

Rise up for prayer.

His Coming
(Matt. 24:3).

The word Coming is rendered from the Greek word Parousia, meaning, personal visible appearance.  The coming of Christ, the preceding signs of which He spoke so much about, is in two phases:

(i).     The Rapture (Matt. 24:3, 36-44).  Rapture, which is the personal appearance/coming of the Lord Jesus in the air (not to the earth) to take His saints, is taken from the Latin word ARaptu@ meaning Acaught away@ or Acaught up@.  As Jesus descends from heaven to the cloud, the dead in Christ will immediately rise with a new body (the celestial body).  And almost immediately after that, the living ready believers will be transfigured, as they put on the spiritual (celestial) body (1Thess. 4:15-17).  This will happen in a very short while, in a twinkling of an eye (1Cor. 15:51-53).  Both the resurrected and transfigured believers will be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air (in the atmosphere between earth and heaven).  They will be visibly united with Christ and taken to the Father=s house in heaven (Jn. 14:1-3; 1Thess 4:15-17).  The rapture of the saints, which opens the chapter of the end-time events, is the very next agenda in the programme of the Lord for this age.  We will look at it in some more details in the course this series.

(ii).     The Second Advent (Matt. 24:3).  The coming of Christ under review, includes His second visible coming to this earth with His saints, at the end of the great tribulation (Matt. 24:29-31; Act. 1:10-11; Jude 14).   (To be treated in some details later).

YOUR TESTIMONIES ARE ABOUT TO CHANGE
Text:                          Lk. 5:1-9; Jn. 21:1-6

INTRODUCTION

Believing and obedience play a very important role in our walk and work with the God of watchman,  if we must realize His promises for our lives and others (Lk.1:45, Mk.9:23).

The LORD’S telescope has again searched out another great truth in the Bible, bringing us  some great revelation of faith stating that Your Testimonies Are About To Change, even as the Spirit of God  witness   that  some have their testimonies changed already.  The following points reveal the details to us:  (1).  The Previous Testimonies, (2).  The Changes  and (3).  How Come, The change.

THE PREVIOUS TESTIMONIES (Lk. 5:5a; Jn. 21:3-5)

What a testimony it was, that these men, who were masters of the art of fishing, toiled all night and caught nothing.  In utter frustration and weariness of heart, they gave their testimony of disappointment, “we have toiled all night, and have taken nothing”.  This surely may be the testimony of some people here today, they have toiled all night, all day, all years and have taken or realized little or nothing.  Others who realized something, may have suddenly lost their gains or profits to thieves/robbers or other unfortunate incidences.  What is your testimony at the present?  Is it that each month that comes, you will be full of expectations, only to tell the same old story there after, whatever the case, may be the LORD brings this good news that testimonies are about to change for the good, the better and the best, in Jesus Name.

THE CHANGES (Lk. 5:6-9; Jn. 21:6, 8, 11)

Upon and from the same water where the men had toiled overnight without any tangible result, came the change of testimony, such that astonished them and also humbled them.  From those who previously testified that after toiling through the night, they had taken nothing and absolutely nothing; came a changed testimony in a matter of hours or minutes.  They now beckoned on others, to help them, because the quantity of fishes they caught overwhelmed their strength.

What a drastic and fantastic change of testimony it will be for the lot  that shall believe our report today, and go about confessing and declaring to themselves in faith that they must have a change of testimony and it shall be so to them in Jesus’ name.

HOW COME, THE CHANGE (Lk. 5:4-5; Jn. 21:5-6)

The change in testimony came when Jesus, the Master of the Ocean and earth and sky, the maker of the oceans and seas and all that are in them came.  Therefore,  contact with Jesus makes the first difference, it transforms lives, and creates an atmosphere for miracles.  Secondly, Taking his instructions and acting on them makes the necessary impact.  This impact brings other elements and forces that negatively influence the testimony to bow in obedience.

Thirdly, they needed to cast the net on the right side.  This right side is known by the LORD only and His servants to whom He reveals it. Over the night they were casting their nets on the wrong side.  Many today have spent their time casting their nets as it were, on the wrong side and hence caught nothing, there is the right and wrong side of every venture.  The Lord at this time, points us to the right side, the side of laying all to the altar of the Lord, beginning with our lives, resources and talents, sponsoring the projects of the Lord in the Movement, paying our tithes/offerings faithfully, sowing in the lives of the ministers and the brethren are wonderful avenues of casting the nets of our resources and services on the right side. When we obey and do it, the testimonies will definitely change in our favour in Jesus name. Many shall shout in surprise at the things the Lord is set to do.

Those who believe this report should rise to prophesy to themselves, that their testimonies are about to change as  we call upon the LORD now.

Christ's Lamentation For Judah And Jerusalem
(Matt. 23:37-39)

Here, Jesus lamented the obstinacy of these Jewish religious leaders. asking: AHow often would I have gathered thy children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and ye would not@ (Matt. 23:37).  In the same vein,  Jesus wants to bring all that will, today, under His saving, protecting, providing, healing, etc, wing (Matt. 11:28,29; Jn. 10:16).

Concluding, He said  Your house is left to you desolate ... Ye shall not see my face henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord@ (Matt. 23:38,39).

Of course, Jesus came first of all to seek and to save the lost  sheep of the house of Israel; to gather them under His wings, but they would not  (Matt. 10:5,6; 23:37; Lk. 19:10;).

As a result, the chapter of Israel had been closed, to be reopened in  the great tribulation, the suffering and mourning of which will make them to cry out for their Messiah.

So, at the 2nd advent,  preceded by this great tribulation, the remnant of Israel will, in repentance,  acknowledge  Jesus Christ, and so be saved (cp. Isa. 26:17; Hos. 5:15; Zech. 12:10; Rom. 11:26).

As the Gentile/Church age is fast winding up, do not miss your chance. After now, there will be no second chance. Be not among those who will cry Ahad I know@ (cp. Jer. 8:20; Lk. 13:23-30).

Rise and let us pray.
