Cleveland is attracting its fair share of hype this week with the announcement it will host the 2016 Republican National Convention and, perhaps even more buzzworthy, that LeBron James, who was born in Akron will return to the NBA Cavaliers. http://ow.ly/z4gxo
Higher Cavalier ticket sales and the RNC could boost the Ohio town.

While much of the public attention has concentrated on the photo ID requirement in North Carolina's new voting law, that won’t take effect until the 2016 election cycle. It’s the other parts already in place that may have the most immediate impact on the November 2014 midterm. http://ow.ly/z1lWq

Everyone has their own opinions about which shows got the brushoff in Thursday's Emmy nominations. My vote is for the ruthless (ruthless, I tell you) snub of Amy Poehler's "Parks and Recreation" for best comedy.
Women only account for 1 in 4 nominees for the Emmy awards. ;

Gaza militants already have fired more than 550 rockets against Israel in the four-day offensive. Israel's "Iron Dome" defense system has intercepted most of those aimed at major cities but some have slipped through.
JERUSALEM (AP) — Gaza rocket fire struck a gas station and set it ablaze Friday in southern Israel, seriously wounding one person as rocket fire also came from Lebanon for the first time in the four-day offensive.

The increase in ED visits was one of the things health economists expected to happen. At least now the taxpayer is not 100 percent on the hook for the unpaid portions of ED visits
