A #USArmy Soldier, assigned to 101st Airborne Division, pulls the firing string to launch a high-explosive shell from an M777 howitzer during a fire mission at Kara Soar Base, Iraq, Aug. 7, 2016. The 101st is in Iraq supporting the Combined Joint Task Force, Operation Inherent Resolve mission by providing indirect fire support for Iraqi security forces as they continue to combat Da’esh and re-take lost terrain. The assistance and support these Soldiers provide demonstrate the commitment of the United States as part of a Coalition of regional and international nations joined together to defeat ISIL and the threat they pose to Iraq, Syria, the region and the wider international community.
