Founded in 1910, The University of Southern Mississippi is a comprehensive doctoral and research-driven university.
Southern Miss has:
- received the Carnegie Foundation's designation for "highest research activity";
- been named by U.S. News & World Report as one of the 20 "most popular" universities in the nation (2010); and
- been honored by the Princeton Review for being a "Green College" (2010).
Southern Miss offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in five degree-granting colleges – Arts & Letters, Business, Education & Psychology, Health and Science & Technology -- plus one of the nation's most prestigious Honors College.
In all, Southern Miss offers more than 180 degree programs for both undergraduates and graduates.
