More than 11,400 high school seniors and other first-year students have applied for admission to the university for Fall 2015. That's the highest number ever and 2,000 more than last year. It's further proof that UNH is an institution on the move.

Shamelessly pursuing the wasteful race for more amenities along with the predictable tuition hikes that go along with it. The office of residential life fully utilizes the draconian policies of forced triples and eviction for even the most minor breach of policy. There are better, more reasonably priced options to be had elsewhere for higher education.

Ignore all of the other reviews about how bad they say this University is because they cant find a job. Its their responsibility to find one not the university's. I love this University, they care about their students more than their money and will work with you to find a solution to any of your problems. SOME of the staff could use some work but, most are great down to earth people. Having more than 230 active clubs on campus leads you not to be bored during your free time. I even was granted the opportunity to found my own Club-Sport UNH E-Sports. and as long as there is interest you can found your very own club as well. Class sizes are very small usually no more than 20 students per class. Professors will work with you if you have any problems with the course. Last year, my roommate became depressed to the point that i had missed many of my classes to stay and watch him to make sure he didnt hurt himself. This had effected my grades in all of my classes. and through sitting down with all of my professors i was able to work out a deal with all of them to help me pass my class. This University is the University of Experimental learning and they are always willing to help you out. YOU JUST HAVE TO ASK

Have loved every minute of my 4 years here working towards my double major in Marine Biology and Environmental Science. Parking and Wifi could be better but it's a pretty great place to be!

Graduated 2001 from the aviation program (now gone), I have yet to get a job that requires a college degree. The program was very poorly executed. The Undergraduate records office never updated my worksheet, and I had to attend the school for an extra year at my expense. After that, it happened again the next year! The second time, I spoke with the Accreditation office of the state of CT, UNH got in BIG trouble with the state. All the buildings were gross, especially the English building. They fired a physics teacher one fall, but couldn't find a replacement, so they hired him back for the spring semester when I took physics with lab. He was one of the worst teachers I've ever had. This is how they run things. Remember that this school (like all schools) is a FOR PROFIT institution, but they do NOT have a reputation to uphold like Yale or Harvard, they don't care about you, they just want your money. Do yourself a favor and skip this school. (This review is the truth, although I did graduate 12 years ago. By reading the reviews of current student's that are at UNH, I can see that very little has changed)

Loved it, a beautiful and growing campus with awesome buildings including 2 LEED certified Green Buildings. The faculty and staff felt like close friends and the educational program I attended was awesome.

The university of new haven was the best choice I've made so far, I received an amazing criminal justice education that I am putting to use immediately since I just got a job right after my graduation in May. The school does help you in every way but you also have to help yourself. Yes, just like everyone in America, I have student loans but they were all worth it for the better than five star experience I had there.

My fiancé went to this school and graduated in 2010. Four years later, and $100,000 in student loans, working a minimum wage job and hardly making ends meet. He went to school for audio recording, and even though this school has the best of the best equipment, they DO NOT HELP YOU FIND A JOB. The only way you can have an internship through them, is if you have the unpaid internship in the last year of school. Unfortunately, can't work for free because of the student loans. So here it is, four years later... and he asked them for help, and they suggested he goes back to school in order to work for an unpaid internship. Why? So he can go another $100,000 into debt? This school didn't inform him of the logistics of obtaining a job after college in that field, and any idiot could see where the job market was headed. He was misinformed, and unfortunately, when you're seventeen, you're a bit too naïve and trusting. This school is just looking to line their own pockets, and don't much care what happens to you after you graduate.

The college doesn't follow their code of conduct for safety of our children. They would prefer to not act on violent threats made to students, but to ignore it.
Response from the owner - 5 months ago
Hi Christine, The University certainly acts on violent threats. Please feel free to contact Dean of Students Becky Johnson at rjohnson@newhaven.edu or 203.932.7176. If this is an urgent matter, please be sure to contact Campus Police immediately at 203.932.7070. Thank you.
