One in three is one too many!

Worldwide, an estimated 1-in-3 women will experience physical or sexual abuse in her lifetime. This is a statistic that we must all work together to change! Join us as we say no to #ViolenceAgainstWomen by wearing orange on #OrangeDay tomorrow, Thursday, 25 February.

Meet Reema, the 5,000th baby born safely at a UNFPA-supported clinic in the #Zaatari refugee camp in #Jordan. None of the 5,000 births has ended in a maternal or infant death!

Share your well-wishes for Reema in the comments section below and we’ll make sure to pass them along to her mother, who is a #refugee from #Syria.

In addition to supporting psychosocial counselling for approximately 28,000 survivors of gender-based violence, we have ensured the safe delivery of more than 63,000 babies in Nigeria’s impacted communities.

“Sport has become a world language, a common denominator that breaks down all barriers.” - United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
Today, 6 April, is the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.

Which sport do you enjoy playing or watching and how do you think it can be used to promote a more inclusive and equitable world?

Midwives play a big role in protecting women by providing sexual and reproductive health services and upholding their rights!

Yet only 42% of people with midwifery skills work in the 73 countries where more than 90% of all maternal and newborn deaths and stillbirths occur. To save the lives of women and children, we must invest in #midwives to help build and maintain a strong midwifery workforce!
