Losing weight, quitting smoking, reducing alcohol consumption, strengthening finances…these are all top resolutions no matter what year rolls in. They’re certainly worthy of topping the list. But don’t forget about one of the key factors that can support all of these goals—mental well-being. Stress can keep us from moving forward—TriWest can help with that! We have an entire web portal devoted to helping Veterans, family members and the military community assess their mental well-being and find the appropriate, effective resources to deal with post-holiday (and everyday) stress. It’s available to you 24/7/365—right at your fingertips and at your convenience! Visit us anytime—wishing you a happy and healthy 2017! www.triwest.com/BehavioralHealth/

Did you know that accountability is one of the most significant factors to sticking with your New Year’s resolutions? In today’s world of social media, email and texting, it’s easier than ever to share your goals with family and friends no matter where you live—and in doing so, you hold yourself accountable for what you wish to achieve, and your loved ones feel more involved in your commitment and want to encourage and support you. Yes, sometimes it does take a village. Consider getting your family and friends involved in your resolutions—invite them to set their own or, better yet, participate in a group objective (or challenge, for those of you who thrive on competition). A common resolution or being a part of a support group will give you focus, motivation and inspiration. In the grand scheme of things, it’s up to you to make important changes in your life. But don’t forget that the people who love you want to help you along the way—and you can help them too! Here’s to a happy and healthy 2017!

Happy Birthday to the U.S. National Guard!
Always Ready, Always There. During peacetime each state’s National Guard answers to the leadership of their state, District of Columbia or territory. In the event of a national emergency, the President of the United States reserves the right to mobilize the National Guard in a federal duty status.
Members of the National Guard respond to natural disasters, civil unrest, and emergency situations locally and on a national level. They are also our neighbors, coworkers, family and friends. At TriWest, we thank members of the National Guard, past and present, for your honorable service in our communities and to our nation.

Today is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. On this day 75 years ago in 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes launched a surprise and deliberate attack on the American naval base at Pearl Harbor, on the island of Oahu, killing over 2,000 Americans. The United States of America was immediately thrust into World War II, forever changing our nation. At +TriWest Healthcare Alliance, we remember those lost and injured on that tragic day and salute all World War II Veterans for their service to our country. #PearlHarbor #WWII
