You don’t know how many times I’ve re-edited this one…
Anyway, back in July, +Lisabet Woods-Jack
and I went to Snowdonia
and I was rather delighted to find some early heather in the national park! Of course I took the opportunity where I could to include those delicious hues in my compositions. So here’s another composition of the Ogwen Valley
looking towards Tryfan,
the Llyn Ogwen
rushing by and a sprig of heather sprouting from the rock. http://goo.gl/PK8vqSLlyn Ogwen, Gwynedd, Snowdonia, Wales.
ISO100, f/8, 1⁄13sec at 14mm (21mm full-frame equiv.) using a circular polariser with a soft 2-stop ND grad filter on my Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 attached to the Nikon D7000. The camera was a mere inches away from the foreground rock and heather so I took two exposures for focus stacking in order to render the scene sharp from close to back. The ND grad took care of the dynamic range of the scene. Processed in Rawtherapee’s Velvia 50 film emulation, dodged and burnt in GIMP.
