Snag a Nexus 6 on the cheap.
Two days ago, Motorola began taking pre-orders for its new Moto X, which starts at $399.99. If you’re looking to get a big phone on the cheap, though, you can get a Nexus 6 for even less. Amazon has slashed the price of the Nexus 6, cutting $300 off of the prices of both the 32GB and 64GB models. That means that the ... [read full article]

T-Mobile wants to make video calling easier.
After beefing up messaging with its Advanced Messaging feature, T-Mobile is now turning its attention to video calling. T-Mobile Video Calling is a new feature that’s baked directly into your phone’s regular dialer. Despite the fact that T-Mobile has sold several Xperia phones in the past, it's looking that it won't carry the Xperia Z5.
T-Mobile and Sony have been pretty tight in the past, coming together to sell the Xperia Z, Xperia Z1s, and Xperia Z3. So I’m betting that when Sony introduced the Xperia Z5 today, quite a few Magenta Army members wondering if it would come to T-Mobile’s shelves. Unfortunately, it’s not looking good. Following Sony’s announcement of the Xperia Z5, a T-Mobile spokeswoman told

It's looking like it's gonna sell for north of $1000 so I'd have a hard time justifying anything but a lease for this thing. I think #Tmobile should reconsider however. Choice for the consumer is never a bad thing.

If you're still rocking a Galaxy S4, an important update is headed your way.
Looks like the LG G4 isn’t the only T-Mobile device getting an update today. T-Mobile says that its version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is getting an update starting today, August 31. The update bumps the S4 to baseband M919UVUFOH3 and includes a patch for the Stagefright vulnerability. This update weighs in at a paltry 15.37MB, but the fix that it ... [read full article]

I don't think he's a fan.
Earlier today, Verizon took the wraps off of a new logo that it says transforms the old logo “for a new era” and “reflects an identity that stands for simplicity, honesty and joy in a category rife with confusion, disclaimers and frustration.” Lots of folks have been weighing in on the new logo since its debut, including John Legere. Legere sent out a Tweet earlier that says that Verizon’s ... [read full article]

I'm a tmobile customer. If I had band 12, which I dont, I wouldn't get a device without it. As it stands I only have LTE band 2 and edge. If the phone supports it I can supposedly do volte on band 2. Not nearly as good as band 12 volte but better than edge. So band 2 volte is actually on my requirements list.

It's not clear to me if volte support means it works on all volte bands or if it has to be separately certified for each band?

Samsung's new Gear S2 smartwatch will be available with built-in 3G, and it's coming to T-Mobile this fall.
Samsung’s new Gear S2 smartwatch is officially here, and it’s coming to T-Mobile. The Gear S2 is a round smartwatch with a 1.2-inch 320×320 Super AMOLED display. Samsung has utilized the round display to introduce a rotating bezel that the company says will enable “quicker, more precise” movement throughout the Tizen OS. There are also Home and Back buttons on the side of the unit. In terms of ... [read full article]
