JUMP is getting a revamp. Check out the details here:

http://www.tmonews.com/2015/06/uncarrier-amped-begins-with-a-revamped-jump-plan/
Just a few seconds ago, John Legere tweeted out the first in today’s announcements. Or rather, teased at an announcement before then going on to explain. At time of beginning this post, he hadn’t yet said anything specific except that JUMP! is getting a revamp. This post is developing, I’ll keep adding information as I wade through it. UPDATE: T-Mobile has updated its newsroom page with the full press release, ... [read full article]

T-Mobile's latest anti-duopoly video is pretty entertaining...

http://www.tmonews.com/2015/06/t-mobiles-latest-defeatduopoly-video-is-just-plain-awesome/
As you will undoubtedly know by now, T-Mobile is going to be taking part in one of the biggest wireless spectrum auctions America has ever seen. The 600MHz incentive auction is due to kick off next year and as things stand, the two biggest carriers look likely to swoop up the majority of the spectrum. As they did in the AWS-3 spectrum auction last year. While AT&T and Verizon are lobbying hard to ... [read full article]

T-Mobile sells some of the best – and most expensive phones – on the market. But perhaps what’s surprising is that there are a bunch of affordable phones on the market that can (almost) give those devices a run for their money. And they’re not available on T-Mobile’s store shelves. While that means that they don’t come with services like Wi-Fi Calling baked in, it does mean that they’re factory unlocked and free ... http://www.tmonews.com/2015/06/useful-video-highlights-changes-made-in-android-5-1-1-for-s6-and-s6-edge/
Yesterday, T-Mobile approved and released the Android 5.1.1 software update for its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users. At the time there was some confusion about what exactly was in the update. But thankfully, one of our tech-reviewing friends on YouTube was on hand to show us. Michael Kukielka (better known as DetroitBorg) uploaded a very quick video to ... [read full article]

One of our most reliable sources came to us this week with more information on what T-Mobile has in store for us. And it seems the carrier has plenty up its sleeve during the week that the biggest headlines will undoubtedly go to Apple as it unveils its latest software at WWDC in San Francisco. And while most of this news applies directly to the next week specifically, there are some plans set ... [read full article]

Tell your friends on Verizon, T-Mobile has extended the two-week trial offer. It's open until June 27...

http://www.tmonews.com/2015/06/t-mobiles-neversettleforverizon-trial-promotion-extended-through-june-27/
Just a few weeks back, T-Mobile launched its latest promotion to target competitor customers. The #NeverSettleforVerizon promotion was launched with Verizon’s customers in center focus. Apart from a snappy hashtag, a “backfiring” Twitter ad and support from everyone’s favorite celebrity watcher, the promotion offered Verizon customers a free two-week test-drive. Customers could sign up to a plan then ... [read full article]

If you're still using an older HSPA/HSPA+ phone, you need to read this:

http://www.tmonews.com/2015/06/aws-hspa-t-mobile-markets-shutdown-dates/
Some of you may be aware already that T-Mobile – as part of its network modernization process – is shutting down its AWS HSPA+ network in a number of markets this year. As it builds out its LTE network, T-Mo wants to recycle its older network technology. This move has actually been planned for some time now, but there are some pretty big markets having their AWS 1700/2100 4G/3G (U2100) networks shut-down now, ... [read full article]

I would assume (if possible), there should be allowing the same band 12, both for HSPA+ and LTE. So even if band 4 AWS for 3G is cut off, the band 12 for HSPA will cover ground as much as LTE. It should be possible.

We have some news to share with you...

http://www.tmonews.com/2015/06/cam-leaving-post-draft/
Before I started physically pressing keys to type this, I didn’t think it would be as hard as it is. But very sadly, my time with TmoNews (and PhoneDog Media) is coming to an end. I wanted to give you advance notice that June 30th is officially my last day writing about all things T-Mobile US. When I first took over TmoNews back in November 2013, I had ... [read full article]

Lumia 640 will arrive alongside a budget Android tablet on June 17th.

http://www.tmonews.com/2015/06/microsoft-lumia-640-and-lg-g-pad-f-8-0-coming-to-t-mobile-on-june-17/
We’ve been wondering about the official launch date for T-Mobile’s Microsoft Lumia 640 for some time, and now we finally have evidence from one of our sources. T-Mo communicated to staff that the long-awaited budget Windows Phone will be arriving on store shelves in time for a June 17 launch. And it’s not coming along. LG’s G Pad 8.0 tablet will be released in Magenta-flavor on the same day. ... [read full article]

In possibly what is the most easily-predictable rumor, early this morning, Wall Street Journal reports that Dish Network and T-Mobile are in discussion about a possible merger. Its sources claim that if the deal goes through, both Charlie Ergen and John Legere would remain. The former will be chairman while Legere would be CEO. Although both sides are seemingly in “close agreement” about what the combined company would like like, ... [read full a...

How do you find using T-Mobile's network at sporting events? Fast enough to share photos.. or unusable?

http://www.tmonews.com/2015/06/rootmetrics-t-mobiles-network-needs-improvement-at-leading-nba-venues/
Picture the scene: You’re settling down in your seat at a leading NBA game and want to snap and send a picture of your Zach LaVine slam-dunking from a mile away. Except, you can’t get Instagram to upload your picture because your network is completely congested by the thousands of other sports fans doing exactly the same thing. If this type of scenario is your worst nightmare, and cell coverage at your NBA ... [read full article]
