Getting ready to watch the moon travel across the sun - fab!

I've been away from here for quite a while, getting my own oxygen mask on, so apologies for the absence.  I've been pondering about 'One Day', time to step up and do more, so wrote this short piece "Every Day is 'One Day' - and 'One Day' is Today".

Hope it's useful to someone.   Happy 2015 one and all :)

This is a great tip if you want to reduce the height of your new Cover picture!
--> Google+ Tip: If you're not a fan of the huge new header banner Google+ has magnanimously bestowed upon us and don't need all that new real estate to convey your message and wish your banner wasn't as tall, I've got an easy fix for you.

Step 1. Click the banner image. Don't click "Change cover", just click the image.

Step 2. When the image opens in the viewer select "Edit photo" at the top of the page.

Step 3. Select the "Crop" option.

Step 4. Drag the selection marquee handles until the selection box covers the part of the image you want to use.

Step 5. Click "Apply" in the crop box to the left and then click "Save" in the top right corner.

Go back to your page and refresh and you will see your new, smaller banner. Of course it's only the height that can be changed, it's always going to extend full width on the page.

Please note that Google overlays a grey gradation at the bottom of the banner so the white text shows up so I wouldn't recommend trying to make it as narrow as the old banner was or it will be completely covered with the grey overlay and look muddy.
