Kwame Kwei-Armah, Lynette Linton and Roy Williams are among the writers that have written monologues for the Royal Court Theatre to mark 70 years since the arrival of the Empire Windrush. The monologue series will also respond to the recent Windrush scandal – the discovery that government policy had led to thousands of British-Caribbean residents being classed as illegal immigrants.

West Yorkshire Playhouse's rebranding as Leeds Playhouse comes ahead of the theatre’s 50th anniversary and as it prepares to undergo a major £15.8 million capital redevelopment project. This will transform the theatre’s entrance, improve access and add a new studio as a third performance space.

Studio Wayne McGregor has issued an open casting call for ensemble performers in the film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, which is being produced by Working Title Films and Universal Studios. The advert calls for dancers of all styles between the ages of 16 and 30. Performers are also required to have a good level of singing.
