back on to tightening up my backup process

I have been setting up a small hypervisor server using KVM/QEMU, managed via libvirt.

I have a few guest systems running nicely now.

The only thing left for me to do is set up domU image backups. - I plan to use duplicity (http://duplicity.nongnu.org/) to sync my backups to amazon S3.

If a virtual machine is running its image is always changing so a normal rsync incremental backup wont work, so you need to either pause the VM or find a way to stop the image you want to backup from changing.

Below seems like a nice method;

If anyone has any other suggestion please comment :)

So cool

The "Time Post". Just finished up this analog meter clock.  The time can be set by touching the bolts on the front by capacitive touch.  The nail in the top of the post turns on the light and cycles through several levels of brightness.        There is a video link in the comments that shows the basic operation of the controls.

The next Egham Raspberry Jam is only 11 days away and its looking to be the busiest one yet. There's still some tickets left so make sure to grab one before they run out!

I'll be bringing along my PiWars  entry 'BiggerTrak' that won the 'Best Remote-Controlled Robot' category. this time it should actually be working, as at the last Egham Jam it just sat there not wanting to move!
