Just because you are poor doesn't mean you have to become a beggar. This interesting baba spends six months a year traveling the mountains of northern India, panning for gemstones in the rivers and valleys. He then spends the next six months in central India getting the stones polished, cut and sold. What started as a simple gesture of supporting locals by buying local turned into a crazy 30min conversation that left me amazed. It's these encounters with locals that is why I travel. Why do you #travel?

Moonrise over Jaipur. After enjoying sunset at Nahargarh Fort, we rotated our chairs 180° and watched the moon come up. Underneath it lies Jaigarh Fort, silently watching guard over the Pink City in the valley below #travel

Rickshaw Run Videos + FAQ

Our long-awaited Rickshaw Run video series is back in full production. There are a total of six videos up so far and even more in the works.   For those just tuning in, earlier this year I checked another item off my travel bucket list: the mother fucking Rickshaw Run! My good friend and fellow travelin’ buddy Ryan and I first wanted to do this back in 2013 but could not coordinate our schedules. (Just one of the many occupational hazards of professional travel blogging, I’m afraid.) What was the Rickshaw Run like? Like driving a riding lawnmower from Canada Read the full article...

50 Colorful Photos From The Pushkar Camel Fair #PushkarFair

Colors. Camels. Gypsies. Performers. Amusement rides. This is the modern Pushkar Camel Fair, an annual tradition that dates back over 800 years. Camel herders from all over Rajasthan flock to Pushkar to show off and sell their flock. But it isn’t just camels. There are also various sports and competitions, including the mustache competition and football (soccer) match between foreigners and locals. I spent two weeks there enjoying the festivities from beginning to end and captured some amazing photos. Choosing only 50 was hard — plus I still have over a thousand I haven’t even had time to look at Read the full article...

This is horse dancing (an interesting sport) at 1/4000 of a sec. The speed at which they move their hooves is impressive. Video coming soon. #travel #PushkarFair

The Kalki Temple in Jaipur is the only temple in India dedicated to the incarnation of a God not yet born. It's located in the Pink City but is tucked away down an alley and required asking several locals before I could find it. As a result, few people visit small but unique temple. Other than a couple kids here flying kites, I've got the place to myself. It's hidden gems like these which have made me a #travel addict.

Behind the scenes in the life of a travel blogger. It isn't all beaches and adventures...sometimes we have to actually work. To prepare myself for my wild 2016 adventures (next up: Afghanistan!) I have a temporary office in India where I can be found working 18hrs a day editing videos, sorting photos and creating content. Here I'm surrounded by laptops, hard drives and empty delivery food cartons. Exotic, huh? Yes, this is the glamorous #behindthescenes life of a professional travel blogger and digital nomad. Still want my job?

2015: My Least Traveled Year (in 7 years as a digital nomad!) #2015inreview #ttot #rtw

Travel isn’t a race. I despise those people who brag about the number of countries or continents they visited in one year. Sure, that may be fine and well, but how long did you spend in airports? How many times were you groped by security guards? How much did you actually learn about the countries you visited? It takes time to do that, which is why I embrace slow travel. My Plan For 2015 Compete in the Rickshaw Run, spend a month in Nepal editing the videos, then continuing on my stanVentures, a slow traveling trip through all seven -stans: Read the full article...
