Aerial view of Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple of Kathmandu. The site dates back to the 5th century and was damaged during the earthquake but reconstruction and repairs are underway. This photo was taken from drone video footage -- that's right, I'm finally done with relief work and sorting videos from the last two months...

Only a couple hours into the #RickshawRun we were engulfed by a sandstorm / rainstorm just east of Jaisalmer and forced to pull over and wait it out. This epic photo was taken by Ryan Brown -- as I was driving, trying to haul ass and outrun the sandstorm, he leaned out the back of the rickshaw and snapped some epic shots.

Ha Long Bay translates as "where the dragon descends into the sea" and is a perfectly apropos name for this majestic UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are over 1,600 islands and islets here, but NOT the island from the 007 movie The Man With The Golden Gun, as many people mistakenly think (that's in Phang Nga Bay near Phuket). Regardless, Ha Long Bay is an impressive spot that is worth visiting, despite the crowds. Just remember: when doing a Ha Long Bay cruise, you get what you pay for -- spending a few extra bucks will make for a more enjoyable experience 😉 See more photos on the newest HoliDaze post

I've had a lot of nice offices around the world over the last six years, but few compare to this one in Arugam Bay at the Kottukal Beach House by Jetwing Hotels. My friend and Sri Lanka travel buddy @mytravelaffairsphotography and I had the entire place to ourselves (aside from the staff) and it was AMAZING! Can't wait to return 😍

This is Megalaya, in the far east of India north of Bangladesh and south of Bhutan. Up in the hills here we encountered smoother, newer roads, which made the final leg of the Rickshaw Run not only very enjoyable but also very scenic, as this photo by Ryan Brown shows. He scaled up the side of the hill to snap this shot while the rest of us refilled our rickshaws.

Crazy mountain roads like this are what makes Nepal one of the best countries in the world for motorcycle road trips!

Up in the mountains of north central Nepal is where the road took us today. We drove hours and hours through mud pits and rivers that came up to our knees on the motorcycle last night before finally sleeping outside with some local villagers right next to the epicenter of the first quake. This morning, this is the view we were rewarding with. Pretty amazing, huh?

If ever there was a whiskey that captured the essence of my soul, it is this: Johnnie Walker Explorers' Club Collection. I picked up a blend called "The Adventurer" because, well, that's what I am. And all I've been doing for 6yrs now. I just don't do it in a suit and tie -- at least not anymore!

How Did I Get Here? Life As A Nomad For Six LONG Years

Well, I don’t have a beautiful wife or a beautiful house…at least not anymore. (Neither really fits with a nomadic lifestyle.) (FYI this post might be best read while listening to Days Go By by Dirty Vegas.) ♫ And you may ask yourself ♬ ♪ Well…How did I get here? ♪ No one ever imagines when first hitting the road that they will ever find themselves still on the road more than six years later. But   travel changes you in ways you can never imagine — and before you know it life begins to rely on this perpetual change […]
