Lewis Katz, a vibrant member of the Temple University community from his time as a student in the early 1960s to his receipt of an honorary degree just a few weeks ago, was killed Saturday night in a plane crash. Katz was a long-time member of the Temple Board of Trustees. http://bit.ly/1kxcfdZ

#WCW: Stella the Owl! Stella, a great horned owl, began her career as Temple’s live mascot in 2013. She can be found cheering alongside Hooter at many Temple sporting events.

Though she’s small—just 2 feet tall and only 3 pounds—Stella is a mighty predator, with an impressive 60-inch wingspan and talons capable of crushing prey with 300 pounds of force per square inch. She currently resides in the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, Pa., where she also is a wildlife conservation teacher.

#CherryOn, Stella!

"No points for second place"

Excellent job by Beasley School of Law student, Caroline Power, who smoked the competition and took home the top prize at Baylor Law School's 2014 Top Gun National Mock Trial Competition. #Lawyered

Temple University is a comprehensive public research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Introduction
Temple University is a national center of excellence in teaching and research with an international presence.

Our talented faculty and broad curriculum of 300 academic programs provide superior educational opportunities for academically talented and highly motivated students, without regard to their status or station in life. Temple’s richly diverse student population and the dramatic growth of our residential campus community of student scholars enrich the educational and extracurricular life of our people.

While the university especially serves students from Greater Philadelphia, it is enlivened by a rapidly increasing number of students from across Pennsylvania, throughout the nation, and around the world. We maintain an international presence with campuses in Tokyo and Rome and programs in London, Beijing, Mumbai, Paris and other locations worldwide.

A longtime leader in professional education, Temple prepares the largest body of practitioners in Pennsylvania; we are among the nation’s largest educators in the combined fields of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, podiatry and law.

In addition, we offer more than four dozen doctoral and more than 110 master’s degree programs that contribute to research and scholarship. Temple seeks to create new knowledge that improves the human condition and uplifts the human spirit. To achieve this goal, we maintain our commitment to recruiting, retaining, and supporting outstanding faculty that prize diversity of thought, excel in scholarly endeavors, and support the aspirations of capable students.
