As a long-time guitar-synth user and fan, I have to say this technology is obviously very impressive, but the sounds in this demo are absolutely awful - the worst.

Loving the music of Terje Rypdal as much as I do, I was really excited by this. Pretty darn cool. :-)

Always love the sound of fretless guitar. Nice rendition of "Summertime." Very hip.

I agree Ted.  I thought this was is best performance of the tour that I saw.  Although his Y2K show was pretty beautiful.

Almost as important as the back and forth switching between "present" and "past" is the "null" middle position between the two poles that creates a choppy, glitchy "gap" between the two signals. If your switch was merely a very fast (but simple) A/B switch it wouldn't be nearly so successful (IMOHO). It's that momentary middle position gap that makes it really happen in such a wonderfully percussive and glitchy way. Just my 2 cents.

Story
Tagline
Just another primate with a computer, delusions of grandeur, and not enough good sense.
Introduction

My "day-job" career has been as a commercial graphic designer. But I have an even greater passion for music. I began playing guitar at the tender age of 10, and had the same general influences as just about anyone else picking up the instrument in the mid-late 60s -- pop radio, the Beatles, Dylan, the Stones, Hendrix -- all of the usual musical touchstones. Be that as it may, something went rather wrong along the way. My brain is wired just a little bit differently. The same could be said for my other aesthetic sensibilities. As a painter, designer, writer, filmmaker -- all things I've tried my hand at -- I'm just a little bit too warped for my own good...but probably not truly warped enough (or cynical enough) to be commercially successful. But some folks find it interesting enough to seek out and listen to. Some have even seen fit to broadcast it on the radio in countries as far flung as Lithuania and Australia (and a considerable number of places between).

Buffets generally don't have the best food in the world anyway - tending toward middle-of -the-road "meh" in quality and flavor - so, it was very surprising to me to find this place with such a good variety and great flavor. Medford doesn't have many decent, high-quality Asian restaurants. They're really all pretty doggone bland here. But this place rates at least 4 stars. Great food and pretty okay service. If you want a truly five star meal, you aren't likely to get one in Medford anyway.
