We are working hard on updating the Synfig Training video course for Synfig 1.0. And we are doing our best to make the new course as awesome as possible. For example, we would like to make sure that you will be able to watch the course even on the small screens. Below you can see a sample from the Russian edition (final version will be released in English as well).

Let me remind, that everyone who purchased the old version of the course at Udemy platform, will get an updated version for free!

With that in mind, for a limited time we offer the current English version of training package at the special price - $10 only. Just use the WANTFUTURE promo code.

Link: https://www.udemy.com/synfig-studio-cutout-animation-en/?couponCode=WANTFUTURE

The promo code is valid until May 28th.

I had the pleasure of spending a little time with +Jehan Pagès and +Aryeom Han at LGM2014, as well as working with them on the Libre Calendar project.  Here they are looking for a donation to help with their open-movie project.  Consider donating, even just a little bit (every little bit helps - $1, $5, whatever you have around) to help!

Skip a fancy coffee, help an open movie! :D

A test (tutorial) with a simple character. My intention was to simulate, quite simply, a reverse kinematics system, or nearly so. :)

The article includes explanations of basic animation concepts, such as "keyframes" and "transforms", as well as videos created by the Synfig team to get you started.
Synfig Studio is a program for creating animations and rendering them to film. It allows you to create anything, from animated banners (does anyone still use those? Wait a sec while switch off my a...
