Last weekend was a great weekend for the ‪#‎smgroadtohealth‬ Ambassadors. From our concourse table at Saturday’s Somerset Patriots Baseball game to the Morristown Farmers Market on Sunday, we had a fantastic time getting out in our community to talk about health and wellness, and have a little fun in the process!

You must continue taking in even the shallowest of breaths; continue putting forth even the smallest of efforts to sustain your dreams. Don't ever, ever, ever give up.” - Richelle E. Goodrich

Overall the facility is nice I've been there a couple of times and loved it, but there is this older lady that is a receptionist in Suite C in the Lawrence building that has a really nasty disposition and isn't really friendly at all.

Thank you for your feedback Najla! I will pass this information onto patient-relations. Sincerely, Gregory Leone Summit Medical Group

Dreadful practice management...7 calls to get an appointment...the scheduling staff are truly clueless..hopefully their practice of medicine is better than their practice management...inept; bad attitude; reflects very poorly on the patient population they serve. Safe bet Summit Medical Group is run by a physician as opposed to a business professional.

Good afternoon Peter! Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry to hear about the troubles you are having with scheduling today. Would you mind sending me your contact information so I can have someone call you to learn more? Please email me your phone number at gleone@smgnj.com. Thank you! Sincerely, Greg

Fantastic Doctors, but the administrative staff and especially the accounts receivables unit are the worst in my 40+ years experience. No detail on bills. Payments not matched to outstandings. Actions promised but not delivered. I keep paying, but I do not trust that their statements are accurate. Especially liked that they sent a collection agency after my daughter for a $9 payment.
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Hi Malcolm. Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about the billing issues you've had with the group. We would like to learn more. Could you please email me your contact information and best time to call? My email address is gleone@smgnj.com Sincerely, Greg

If you want to spend your money wisely on health care do not go to this place as it is the medical version of the giant vampire squid sucking blood in Wall Street. First of all, this giant medical group is more expensive than other places, the amounts this group bills are always multiple time as expensive as other smaller more normal doctor groups and insurance companies actually pay them this amounts which makes your insurance copayment higher than to the average cost that you will pay without insurance for the same treatment elsewhere. Worst part is they will not give you direct upfront cost estimate for the treatment that you are seeking so that they can extract this excessive amount of money.

Thrilled! I had never been to this facility before, but after having my car valet parked (AWESOME) I noticed how clean it was which is a major plus for me. After doing a lot of research and consults with doctors for a plastic surgery procedure I found Dr. Reza Momeni. Making my appointment was a breeze. The ladies at the front desk are all so nice, accommodating, understanding, and polite. After having my consultation with Dr. Momeni and Nurse Mary I knew he was the doctor for me and scheduled my procedure for 2 weeks later. By the way, Nurse Mary was by far the coolest nurse I ever met. Talking to her was like talking to a lifelong friend. I felt so comfortable through the whole process. I healed in record time with minimal pain, swelling, and discomfort. All of which I was prepared for the worst. I am so glad I chose Dr. Momeni, and highly recommend him to anyone in search of an expert of plastic surgery. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

the doctors are great. staff is friendly and helpful. easy to get everything done (office visit, labs, testing) in one place on the same day. every doctor/specialist is connected to the same system, so everyone is on the same page. very convenient lots of locations if youre in a crunch.

I am very distressed about the fact that I had to go to see the same Doctor 9 times without having a problem fixed. To remove a corn on the bottom of my foot, Dr. Tar did warn me that it might need to be treated a couple of times instead of just once. However, from the 3rd time on, it's always '95% and just need one more treatment'... Eventually after 9 times, hundreds of dollars out of pocket (Insurance paid another $1,515), tens of hours waiting to see the doctor, I had enough and went to see a nurse practitioner, one visit, $20 over the counter medicine and several weeks later, it's 100%. I complained this in letter and emails to Summit Medical Group, no reply at all. I complained this to BBB and got response. Summit Medical Group customer relation is a nightmare as well, they made me to go for an extra appointment with the other practice, got a copy of my medical record. And then quickly and simply they concluded "we didn't do anything wrong". Another experience with Summit Group is nothing to do with the good doctor, but even more painfully bizarre. My primary doctor insisted me to have a routine eye exam even I don't need new glasses. She of course referred me to the Summit Medical Group's Ophthalmology practice. My wife warned me that they might not take our vision plan. So when I called to make an appointment, I asked specifically if they take my vision plan, she said they will only go through medical insurance and asked me what medical plan we have. When I told her UHC, she led me believe that it's not a problem So I took a day off to go for this appointment since I won't be able to see clearly for several hours after the check up. When I got there, I was asked to sign a form saying it's my responsibility if medical plan doesn't cover this. WHAT? Didn't the girl booked my appointment check this since all my info is in SMG's computer? So I called UHC and was told no it's not covered under the medical plan. I told the receptionist, she basically said it's ok, when I get the bill, I can just submit it to my vision plan - implying that my vision plan will cover it... Silly enough, I assumed she's right since I don't have my vision plan's # to call at the moment. I was also thinking even if it's not true, it won't worth it to reschedule to take another day off to save $100. She was wrong, my vision plan only cover $30 because SMG is not in the network! I was wrong, because the bill is not $100, it's $290 for a routine eye exam! My wife tried to talk to SMG customer relation many times to reduce the bill - no, can't do.

Too expensive you will end up paying more with your insurance deductible than other medical facility without using any insurance. They will never give any estimate upfront so they can charge whatever they want . I would not advise anyone to go to this place
